Obama’s biggest accomplishment is his success (thus far) in running a Presidential campaign. But isn’t this a bit absurd? One qualifies to run for President by the very activity of running for President?
Read the whole thing! Â Via Glenn Reynolds who has some great links on the Bristol Palin issue and how it might help (or hurt) the GOP.
Couldn’t agree more. As I’ve said elsewhere: Applying for medical school is not medical experience. Running for Sheriff is not police experience.
Don’t they all do this to some degree? There isn’t really any way to qualify fully for being President except by, well, being President.
Honestly, that has to be on of the must ridiculous statements if this campaign. Obama was so much better off with the change mantra.
#2 Mike – Well, being Governor of a State sure helps prepare you. It’s probably the closest thing we have.
Normally I prefer the candidate to have 8 successful years as Governor. By that measure, Palin is underqualified. And yet, still not as underqualified as Obama or Biden. (Exempting McCain here because of his military command experience)
You forget the elitist element. You see, Obama is qualified because he went to an elite, Ivy League college, where elites go, where middle class people only come in to clean the halls. Whereas Sarah Palin went to one of those silly “cow colleges.”
Which makes the Democrats push for “college for everyone” clearly ridiculous since they obviously have no respect for any education unless it was gained at an institution that is inaccessible expect to a privileged few.
I think Palin will not only help the GOP, she has energized the base as well. Plus, a lot of us don’t cotton too well when the MSM takes on a lady and tries to smear her good name. You watch – there will be a backlash against both the DNC and the MSM water-carriers.
Unlike Hillary, Sarah got where she was by being herself, not marrying upward and staying with a philanderer and possible drug addict.
Plus, she married a great guy who never used triangulation to blame others for his own shortcomings. He’s a true rugged individualist. And I’m proud that their son Track will be fulfilling his dream of being an Army soldier.
(Note to smug libtards who want politicians’ kids to serve in the military – want salt with that crow?)
I have to admit (to quote V da K), McCain by himself was a $hit sandwich. But having Palin on the ticket makes all the difference.
