I had a thought last night, more succinct than my initial post on this matter about why I call columnist and former Reagan Speechwriter Peggy Noonan my Athena:
She offers intelligent ideas in a distinctly feminine voice.
UPDATE:As I drove into St. Paul after writing this, I thought to adjust my short expression of Peggy’s Athena-like qualities. Perhaps, I should have said she offers thoughtful commentary, sage sometimes with a distinctly feminine voice. In other words, she is very clearly a woman (as Athena was very clearly female) when she imparts wisdom.
Aaargh, don’t apologize! You’re as bad as me!
