The 2000 Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee . . .

September 2, 2008 by GayPatriotWest

. . is now addressing the Republican National Convention and endorsing his friend John McCain for President.

This good man, this Democrat, puts his country before his party.

The meat of his remarks:

As a matter of fact, if John McCain is just another partisan Republican, then I’m Michael Moore’s favorite Democrat.

And I’m not.

Senator Obama is a gifted and eloquent young man who can do great things for our country in the years ahead. But eloquence is no substitute for a record — not in these tough times.

In the Senate he has not reached across party lines to get anything significant done, nor has he been willing to take on powerful interest groups in the Democratic Party.

Correction: Lieberman is identified as an Independent, not a Democrat. He identifies himself as a former Democrat.

Joe’s wrong on some big issues but he’s a rare man: an intelligent liberal with class – an honorable man.

I’ll bet Al Gore just hates this: he has to push his increasingly dire climate “predictions” just to stay in the news (albeit irrelevant); Lieberman is still relevant. People still want to hear what he has to say.

I don’t know if putting Joe on the ticket would have been a smart political move on McCain’s part but you could do worse. I could vote for McCain/Lieberman because both men are trustworthy (even if they’re wrong on certain issues).

(Name change: there’s another “Robert” commenting now)

Yes, lets not forget Democrats ran him out of the party with pitchforks when he dared put country first. SO. lets be clear, he is the FORMER Democrat Vice Presidential Nominee.

We have managed to notice Palin’s a woman, somehow. We just don’t like her because we want a better deal for women and you guys. She’s an extremist, after all, who’d be just a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

Yeah, I’d like to see as many people as possible in the Dem tent, But we have way too big a country for just one political party, don’t we? I believe Obama will do the most of all the candidates available for ALL Americans, not just liberals. I like how many different kinds of people you run into driving across the country, not just the three or four just like me.

How’d somebody calling himself GayPatriot like to be able to join the Armed Services without stupid worries about sexual orientation? It’s in Obama’s positions. McCain says he likes don’t ask, don’t tell, and I’d expect Palin to be even less helpful.

Here’s Palin on gay issues during her governor run in ’06:

“Elected officials can’t defy the court when it comes to how rights are applied, she said, but she would support a ballot question that would deny benefits to homosexual couples.”(source).

    Say goodbye to Obama

OBAMA AND DOMESTIC TERRORIST AYERS FUNNELED MONEY TO JEREMIAH WRIGHT CHURCH AND ARAB AMERICAN ACTION NETWORK – NRO —

The relationship between Barack Obama and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers appears to be even more involved than we already knew. Papers just released by the University of Illinois-Chicago, after much public pressure, show that Obama and Ayers collaborated as members of the board of the Woods Fund to funnel money to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ and the Arab American Action Network – founded by Rashid Khaldidi who supported Yassir Arafat and the Palestinians against Israel.

In fact, by 1997 Obama and Ayers were collaborators on a far more significant level. They sat together for several years on the board of the Woods Fund, a left-wing Chicago charitable organization. There, they doled out tens of thousands of dollars to such beneficiaries as the Trinity Church (where Obama was a longtime member and where another Obama mentor, Jeremiah Wright, preached a radical, anti-American brand of Black Liberation Theology) and the Arab American Action Network (co-founded by Rashid Khalidi, a Yasser Arafat apologist who has supported attacks against Israel and now directs Columbia University’s notorious Middle East Institute, founded by Edward Said).

National Review Online has an extensive article on this relationship. They are just beginning to review the papers released. I feel certain there will be much more about this radical relationship come to the surface.

As much as I didn’t want JL to become McCain’s pick, I was quite frustrated with the anti-JL rhetoric being put forth by conservative pundits I normally love. Regardless of how much I don’t want his domestic policies enacted (a real possibility had he been the pick and they win and McCain dies in office), so much of the rhetoric against JL was over the top, even ugly. As someone who has shown such class and courage over the last few years, Sen. Lieberman deserved better than the harsh treatment he got. I’m very thankful Gov. Palin is the pick, but we as conservatives should be grateful for men like Sen. Lieberman.

It seems that democrats have suddenly become concerned with a candidate’s prior experience and how that would specifically affect (whether good or bad) how they performed in office. The double standard is evident, as many decide whether Palin is qualified based on her daughter’s pregnancy. Now suddenly we are talking about her experience in an executive role. Those conversations were not nearly as prevalent as Obama ascended. While media outlets fawned over Obama, they now have switched gears to critically look at Palin.

Lieberman is identified as an Independent

Correction: Lieberman is indeed identified as a Democrat.

There is an ‘I’ in front of it, but it’s an adjective; ‘D’ is the noun. Lieberman continues to caucus and to vote with the Democrats.

No, they didn’t. Lieberman remains a Democrat. (see above)

he is the FORMER Democrat Vice Presidential Nominee

Of course he is. 2000 is before 2008, is it not? He isn’t this year’s VP nominee, is he? Come on.

    Say goodbye to Obama

I wish it were that easy. The media are doing their best, so far, to NOT cover the Republican Convention or present any accurate information about Obama. And media coverage of the RNC and paid political ads are the Republican’s only shots at making their case to the American people in a direct, unfiltered way.

I think there is a good chance that Obama makes it and the nation suffers through four years of Jimmy Carter Squared, before Palin-Jindal or Jindal-Palin clean up in 2012.

What threw me was how many were going off the deep end about a decision that hadn’t been announced yet. Folks, that’s not rational. That’s “slowly back away” behavior.

Lieberman isn’t the speaker Fred is, but the speech was very good, aimed directly at independents. And notice how it immediately dovetailed with McCain’s “Country first” slogan?

Mind you, I have a low opinion of Ayers. But there’s a certain common theme to all these Wright and Ayers activities: THEY AREN’T ON THE BALLOT.

Now, Palin’s an extremist who IS on the ballot. I mean, if you’re scared of Wright and Ayers, maybe you might wanna think if you should be more scared of Palin. I realize that many of you aren’t far from where she is politically, but that’s by no means all of you. Others of you aren’t aware yet where she really is. Just keep in mind what I wrote when it comes out or when you see it discussed.

Notice, I don’t care about the Palin baby issues, nor do I think she’s inexperienced. I’m following the multiple suggestions at the RNC (and Obama himself) to care about the issues.

Ayers, Wright and Nation of Islam are DEFINATELY on the ballot.

Who the hell do you think it will be that Obama will infect all throughout the Executive Branch? He doesn’t have any other friends except those.
