Well, let’s go and find all the former Carter staffers working for Obama.

First the term “obamunist” is not an argument, it is instead just a slur to prevent rationale argument.

If you had to live by this you would implode like the house in Poltergiest.

As conservatives, we respect people’s rights to have different opinions, and to assemble peaceably and petition their government for a redress of grievances. Unlike Mr. and Mrs Obama’s associates, the AIP is a peaceable organization that has not bombed anyone, not killed anyone, not honored men like Louis Farakhan nor traveled abroad to hobnob with the likes of Muammar Khadafy.

So, yes, let’s legitimately discuss the spouse of the candidate for vice-president’s involvement in a peaceful group that articulates a disagreement with the Federal Government’s management of its state’s affairs. And let us delve just as deeply into the presidential candidate’s ties to violent, unrepentant Marxist terrorists and preachers who rail against America, honor deranged anti-Semites, and hobnob with foreign terror leaders. A candidate who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to those causes and used his position in government to earmark taxpayer funds for their support. Let’s have that discussion and comparison. I would welcome it.

Of course people have the right to petition the govt. for change. But this party’s goal is to secede from the U.S.–that may be perfectly legitimate, but it is still odd that the husband of the VP candidate would be a member of such a party and I doubt if the situation was reversed Michelle Obama would be given a pass on this one.

As for the Weather Undergroud, I think the right has milked this for all it is worth. I think Obama was about 10 years old when the Weather Underground existed.

The AIP is an outgrowth of those legitimate grievances. And unlike Barack Obama’s buddies in the Weather Underground, the AIP has never bombed the Pentagon, never bombed the Capitol, and never killed anyone.

Although Sarah Palin was not herself enrolled in the party, in addtion to her husband’s not to distant membership she has spoken at party events. Of course, I am certain if Michelle Obama was enrolled in a Black secessionist party, you would agree that topic should be off limits.

From a group that despises affirmative action, you seem to have no trouble with McCain picking someone as VP solely based on her gender. Even, GPW’s “Athena”, Peggy Noonan is recorded off camera, but unknowingly still with the sound on saying McCain’s choice was a disaster.

A very telling difference.

One can always dream.
