The Left’s Smear Campaign Against Sarah Palin
I’m taking a backseat here this week while Dan continues his superb live-posting from the GOP Convention in St. Paul.  I did, however, want to briefly share with everyone that I am posting at my own blog many useful links of news articles and entries from other blogs I have encountered around the Web concerning the Left’s smear campaign against the GOP Veep nominee, Governor Sarah Palin. This will be continuously updated this week as I come across more material and if anyone has something they’d like to see added, please feel free to email me at avgayjoe@yahoo.com.Â
Finally, just two quick comments on the happenings at the GOP Convention thus far: kudos to LCR for endorsing McCain and Dan is right about Fred Thompson’s speech: I too was wowed and energized! Now back to more of Dan’s coverage…

Lefties take note – This is the other side of the story on Troopergate, and it pretty much demolishes the crap you’ve have been saying’:

Here’s the Cliff Notes.
1) No one pressured Monegan.
2) Palin did nothing wrong.
3) If you want to weasel it and say she ‘may have unwisely given the appearance or hint of improper pressure’, you can go f*ck yourself. Wooten was a danger to the entire public (not just the Palins); police authorities were not effectively addressing the problem.

Gingrich on Palin’s credentials vs. Obama’s – fun to watch:

Again hat-tipping HotAir… A good summing-up and refutation of the Palin bashing in today’s WSJ:

(sorry, it is not a detailed ‘refutation’… I meant ‘deconstruction’ of the Palin-bashers’ motives.)

Only the Right wing has the balls to blame the left for their candidate’s lies…
Hi-lair-ious.
So its not her fault that she leid about the bridge to nowhere?
So its not her fault that she lied about her role in troopergate
So its not her fault that she lied about being a reformer?
You should put the blame on where its due, McCain. He has poor judgment and puts politics over country….
Comment by gillie — September 3, 2008 @ 11:39 am - September 3, 2008
I think their motives are pretty clear. Sarah Palin is an attractive, happily married woman who succeeded on her own terms outside the liberal feminist sisterhood. Therefore, she must be destroyed.
Can’t have any uppity types showing the plantation slaves they can succeed outside the plantation.

ILC all of your spinning and wishing can’t take away facts she lied about her role.
Comment by gillie — September 3, 2008 @ 11:40 am - September 3, 2008
ILC do you know that your link just goes to her lawyer’s submittal?
That would be like using Johnny Cochran’s opening statement as proof that OJ is innocent.
Comment by gillie — September 3, 2008 @ 11:44 am - September 3, 2008
gillie, I followed your links to the three Palin lies and I kept ending up at KOS. Is that like Chaos or Smersh or something?
Comment by heliotrope — September 3, 2008 @ 11:53 am - September 3, 2008
Oh, yes, Kos, the website that spent last weekend pushing the “She’s not really Trig’s Mother” story. What a reliable source… of garbage.
And gillie is too dumb to figure out that no one cares.

There’s a distasteful “Wellstone Memorial†quality to the glee Democrats seem to take in trashing the Palin family.

Once more, I-a-n proves he can’t read!
Here is what I already told you about it, genius:
Emphasis added, for the blind and demented. Now here’s another clue for you. Try actually reading it. Who knows: your pathetic, hateful rantings might start to have a bit of factual content, if you do.

Helio
Are you denying that she was for the bridge to nowhere?
Are you denying that she did not lie about her role troopergate? (and the cop fireing as mayor)
Are you denying that she begged for earmarks, worked with disgraced Sen Steven’s, and basically did everything that a corrupt Alaska republican does?
Yow. If that is true, that is some SERIOUS head in the sand action…
Comment by gillie — September 3, 2008 @ 1:13 pm - September 3, 2008
Lack of foreign policy experience! Babies, Lies, and Scandal (a la US Weekly’s cover page)! Seriously, who the hell does Sarah Palin think she is? John Edwards?!
Comment by Right Turn — September 3, 2008 @ 2:25 pm - September 3, 2008
gillie,
Your evidence please.
Your evidence please.
Your evidence please.
I stand ready to be educated and even humiliated. One point, though, it is the governor’s duty to work with the state’s Senators. If disgraced Sen. Steven’s were a democrat, it would be the governor’s duty to work with him.
Please think through your allegations, make them more specific (for your own sake) and come back with the compelling evidence. Meanwhile, I will change the cat litter.
Comment by heliotrope — September 3, 2008 @ 3:16 pm - September 3, 2008
OMG Gillie, I see the light. The right wing is evil. Bush lied and people died and Sarah Palin is actually the mother of John Edwards love child created to make stem cells for Elizabeth’s cancer.
Just kidding. Honestly, do you think you’re making a difference here?
Comment by OutliciousTV — September 3, 2008 @ 3:32 pm - September 3, 2008
…Before she looked into it further, then *DID THE RIGHT THING* in cancelling it.
Oh my god – She changed her mind and DID THE RIGHT THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCANDAL!!!!!1!!!11!
Comment by ILoveCapitalism — September 3, 2008 @ 4:25 pm - September 3, 2008
The so called “bridge to nowhere” connected a city to an airport. The term is just another term the media uses to belittle small town America. Airports are important to commerce and in Alaska they are essential.
$328 million on a bridge may sound expensive but Alaska is earthquake and glacier country.
The City of Los Angeles almost spent that same amount on a high school they never finished building only to demolish it.
I think it’s ironic that liberals complain about government waste.
Comment by OutliciousTV — September 3, 2008 @ 5:13 pm - September 3, 2008
I think the the liberal elite, any bridge that doesn’t connect to Manhattan is a “Bridge to Nowhere.”

We’ll see if Peggy’s right or not. After all, Athena does get things wrong from time to time.
Comment by GayPatriotWest — September 3, 2008 @ 5:39 pm - September 3, 2008
jimmy, whatever, but pick the right thing to laugh about. McCain picked Palin for real – it’s not cynical. McCain and Palin are both fighters. All that this open mike proves is that Noonan wasn’t completely honest in her WSJ column this morning, praising Palin. Have fun laughing about that!
Comment by ILoveCapitalism — September 3, 2008 @ 5:44 pm - September 3, 2008
(i.e., Noonan wasn’t honest about her own feelings)
Comment by ILoveCapitalism — September 3, 2008 @ 5:45 pm - September 3, 2008
jimmy, if your synapses are still firing, tell gillie I am waiting for evidence. I changed the cat litter, so I can give it my 2/3rds attention.
