Report from the Convention Floor

I just cut two interviews for Pajamas TV, one in Pajamas booth where I have pretty much based myself one from Pajamas booth and the other from the convention floor.

It was quite a feeling to be there on the floor, seeing the various delegates and the countless reporters, many interviewing those delegates, others chatting with their colleagues. After I participated in an interview with openly gay Lone Star State alternate delegate Carlos Obando of Houston, that fetching Texan and I walked over and introduced ourselves to Carl Cameron of FoxNews with whom we shared our perspective as gay Republicans.

The reporter is much taller than I had imagined. Here, a shot of Carl and Carlos:

  2. Sorry, Peter, you’re taken and if he would have me, I wouldn’t share and I’d want to keep him for a long time. :-)

  3. Dan, here’s Peter’s Principle of Life #1:

Just because you are on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu once in a while.

But yeah, you two would be cute together! ;-)

    Regards,
    Peter H.

  7. I can’t locate your Pajamas Media interviews. Can you provide a direct link rather than the Pajama’s homepage?

  9. GP Blogger To Do List:

    A. Deride the promiscuous ways of most modern homosexuals. Cite extreme examples from gay pride demonstrations and bars.

    B. Comment exclusively upon the sexual attractiveness of men featured photographically on this blog (live from the convention, no less). Emphasize looks, sex, and the fact that being on a “diet” does not preclude “looking at the menu.” Ask GPWest to “send him [your] way” when GPWest is finally “done with him.”

    C. Fail to note personal hypocrisy.

    D. Continue deriding ‘liberal’ gay peers while also reinforcing stereotypes of the gay community yourself (promiscuous, superficial, etc).

    E. Ensure maximum reader accessibility for said comments via the medium of the Net. This increases the likelihood of still-to-form-an-opinion-of-homosexuality readers to conclude that all gays (conservative AND liberal) only think about sex.

    F. Repeat process anytime an attractive male is featured via this blog photographically.

  10. Sean A To Do List:

    1. Read comment 9, A through F.

    2. Realize that author of comment 9 was “JR.”

    3. Recall that JR made a comment on another post calling Palin’s political existence a “crowning achievement” of the liberal feminist movement.

    4. Laugh vigorously, recalling the utter silliness of JR’s comment. Make note to self to regard all future comments of JR as likely irrelevant and/or absurd.

    5. Read JR’s comment 9, A through F one last time to… hasten…Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………………………

  12. I was reading soe op-ed in a SF paper.. the Lefties are getting a feeling they are going to lose.. this comment is funny:

Thanks for the pep talk, Mark. You know, it really hit a nerve. I work in an office where only two of us are centrist, left-leaning people supporting Obama and the other eight are part of that scary reactionary Bush-voting block which apparently comprises 50% of the electorate. I had to endure an entire work day hearing them swoon incoherently over Palin, so just imagine what’s going on in the red states. I went home in such a bad mood I irritated myself. Then I kind of got over it after watching what portion of the McCain speech I could stomach. Talk about creepy. I want to believe that this country can pull it off. That with the intelligence, judgment and simple ability to speak English, Obama might actually win. Granted, this nation elected the Idiot/Evil Puppet Master Duo in the White House today — not just once, but TWICE! Gag. But, let’s keep in mind the amazing, inspiring candidate we have, and believe that the groundswell of support is just beginning to show its true power.

bravo Mark! I could not watch the Rep convention, they made me sick to my stomach. And I’m not even talking about McCain, i’m talking about those idiots in the room, smiling and applauding and so sure of themselves and who just simply DON’T GET IT.

Holy cow/… ONE OF THEM IS SELF-REFLEXION!! This is a breakthrough

ya know what? i’m pretty darn liberal, but i get so tired of hearing liberal whining that i can see why mccain’s starting to look good to people. who wants to identify with a party of snide whiners? besides, just look at the communities we liberals make (sf, oakland, berkeley). they stink! when ya get down to it, maybe all we can do on the left is bitch and gripe. maybe we’ve lost the ability to get things done.

Dude, WHATEVER……. Is this journalism? This makes me sick. Journalism isn’t giving equal time to those who are trying to make this world a better place AND to those who are trying to destroy it…. What a joke. Please Media, tell us the truth… A maverick? Come on…………..

Here’s a description of Joe Biden’s foreign policy deliberations. It’s from a profile of Biden that was published in the impeccably liberal _The New Republic_. It’s October 2001, the post 9/11 crisis weeks. Biden meets with staff. “This,” Joe Biden announces, “is what I’ve spent my entire adult life preparing for.” Biden then “launches into a stream-of-consciousness monologue about what his committee should be doing, before he finally admits the obvious: ‘I’m groping here.’ Then he hits on an idea: America needs to show the Arab world that we’re not bent on its destruction. ‘Seems to me this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran,’ Biden declares. He surveys the table with raised eyebrows, a ‘How do ya like that?’ look on his face.” [Uh, Joe? Say what you will about improving relations with the Arab world, Iranians aren't Arabs. Never have been, never will be.]
