Kevin, can you help me understand what specifics were in the speeches last week here in Denver? Oh wait you are right, last week they specifically said they would raise taxes... I suppose that is the solution that will fix the economy and all those concerns listed last week--it hasn't in the past--but I suppose if you keep pretending it will then it just might.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results--Albert Einstein
Our government is in debt, and their spending is wasteful and dodgey at best (Pork Spending etc) and Obama is the one that wants "more of the same" spending OUR money.

It was not until this week that I truly believe that there is hope for moving towards more fiscal responsibility and those solutions. That is through McCain/Palin. Instead of bitching about it they told us what hey would go after. I think you will be surprised at what will happen when they practice on a larger scale what Sarah did in Alaska.

To me the Democtrat ticket is similar to those RBS commercials... all talk no action. You can see 3 dems sitting at the table in this YouTube clip. Thank goodness a conservative comes in and helps.

Good to know Obama has the 'pro-sex in public places' vote in Kevin.

I suppose means testing for teachers, drill here drill now pay less, winning against the people trying to kill us, keeping taxes low and cutting when we can.

Mortgage crisis is only for people who bit off more than they can chew, price of oil's still dropping (Has been since the Repubicans have brought Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less to the front) and my currency converter is showing the dollar rising against the pound (which is what I set it for).

I agree, we've lost the focus on terrorism, because we've been successful in not being hit (publicly). To steal a line from an old comic book, "Everyone says they don't need a fireman, until their house is on fire."

It comes down to the fact that speeches we saw last week talked about specific issues that are important to the American people and what is going to be done to fix the problems we currently face.

The speeches we saw this week were nothing but rah-rah rhetoric and the announcements of vague plans which were the exact same things announced by the Republicans in 2000 and 2004. Terrorism has become a yawnfest to the American people: It got them through 2004, but people have caught on now. The mortgage crisis, the continuing loss of jobs, the continuing decline of America's infrastructure, the decline of the economy and the weakening of the dollar, America's loss of status as a leader for freedom and democracy, the marginalization of the everyday citizen of this country are issues that are on people's mind. It's very difficult for Republicans to stand up and say "believe us, we're gonna change what we've been doing the last 8 years". He'd have more credibility if he ran as an independent.

Nice link to the Huffington Post by the way - watching Sarah Palin's speech gave a good clue on her ideas - God's in charge of everything we do.

I couldn't help but notice all of the NBC affiliates running any clips of the convention filming and still-shotting the worst people in the audience, like a huge man with a ridiculous elephant hat on. *facepalm*

It was a good speech though. Two prime differences between McCain and Obama speaking: McCain speaks into the camera, to the rest of the country, as I see it. Hopefully that isn't just where the speech teleprompters are, but hey. It looks better on him.

Alan Colmes has been hosting a week-long Destroy Sarah propaganda campaign on his blog.

Today he is spreading disinformation which distorts Sarah’s words and protrays her as having the position that she is declaring the Iraq war as a task from God. As if she know’s God’s mind. He is using that false image to protray as a religious exteremist.

He is deliberately trying to ruin her reputation.

Title: Sarah Palin: Iraq War A “Task From God”
http://www.alan.com/2008/09/04/sarah-palin-iraq-war-a-task-from-god/

See the link for the whole article. ths is my comment in it:

Hey guess what everyone

This whole post is a lie.

The whole post is centered around the notion that the Iraq war by the US is being as a task from God.

W R O NG

Alan chopped off half the quote.

Dirty business.

Alan’s deceptive version:

“Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God,” she said. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God’s plan.”

The real version:

“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

I knew something wasn’t right about this… and I was right.

When are you people going to have any honor?

Unless it's Rush, Hannity, Levin, Coulter, Beck, Bennett etc. Not to mention us "racist" folk who refuse to genuflect before The One the libs have been dumbing down America for.

because he knows that one of his weaknesses is his oratical skills.

You mean weaker than this?

has nothing to offer America but three memoirs and a great narrative of a career as it comes to an end. His biography will not help America’s economic problems.

And what has Obama written other than two memoirs? His father's dreams aren't going to do us any good and neither will "God D*MN America!".

// sure hope this makes it through the filter

jimmy's comment about a culture war (guess I missed Palin declaring same) reminded me of a caller to Rush's show a day or two ago. She was convinced that a McCain/Palin administration was going to ban abortions. Aside from the fact that the president cannot ban abortion by fiat, I was struck that this appeared to be the ONLY ISSUE she cared about: the "right" to kill a baby in utero whenever the urge comes over her. And, if the baby happens to survive the procedure, then to let it die, alone, in a specimen tray stuck in a storeroom.

Now I wouldn't ban abortion (early ones, anyway) even if I could. But I think we should all acknowledge what's going on. What must it be like to ruminate every day that your right to an abortion may be circumscribed?

After reading the Advocate mention of the Log Cabin luncheon and the moonbat comments, something occurred to me.

Women who see abortion as a defining right and gays who see anything less than total obeisance to the "gay agenda" as an anti-gay pogrom view liberals (progressives) as the only protection they have against knuckle-dragging conservatives.

But look around the world: Europe and Canada have bought the progressive agenda lock, stock, and barrel. American gays think "now those are superior people and societies". But these progressive societies are becoming extinct due to low birth rates and are being overrun by Muslims (a number of whom are decidedly NOT very tolerant of gays or uppity women).

In Canada and in Europe, you can be brought up on charges of "offending" Islam. Politicians in these countries say they could accept sharia.

My point is this: conservatism means holding (clinging?) to our time-tested Judeo-Christian and uniquely western culture. While some European countries may appear more accepting and tolerant today, the trick is to be accepting and tolerant ten years from now.

American conservatism means knowing that our society, warts and all, does a better job at insuring liberty and justice for its citizens than any other. What good is it for a President Obama to, say, support gay marriage (which he does not) when he won't stand up for the culture that would allow it to survive?

Commentator from LA.

2 points. First, since when is "static" hate speech?

Second, that wasn't a protester. That behavior not what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they spoke of "peacefully assembling to petition the government of redresses. It's disruptive leftist tactics to disrupt.

People like you and the rest of your liberal hordes of idiots need to understand this. In fact, all you did was make your side look completely unhuinged and utter fools to tens of millions of Americans.....the vast majority of whom are disgusted by such goings-on.

#18Got this from Ann Althouse - a current NYT news headline - “”Obama to Dispatch Female Surrogates”. Misogyny, anyone? (if you don’t get the joke, just think about it a minute)

Stinks of sexism. Typical of the two faced Democrats.

We are still digesting GOVERNOR Palins record as Mayor and Governor and her record of accomplishments. Her personal story is breathtaking and extensive. Whew. What a woman. You gotta know Barack wishes he didn't pick that old grey balding white man, and plagerizer Biden as his VP. Conservatives can't wait to vote. We just wish, like Democrats, we could vote two or three times. (Contact any ACORN member for multiple registrations hehe)
