Given Joe Biden’s record of gaffes . . .
. . . maybe it’s not such a bad thing the press section of his plane is “Totally Deserted.” I mean the fewer media there are, the less likely they are to catch his gaffes.
Here’s a sample: Â Top 5 Joe Biden Gaffes Of This Campaign.

Not only do the Dems have to deal with Joe “the mouth” Biden, but now Speaker Pelosi has another Democrat crook who refuses to go away…..

Charlie Rangel one of the most senior Democrats in Congress, just another run of the mill Dem crook.

So whose track record of dishonest self-promotion and self-exaggeration is worse - Biden’s, or Obama’s? Discuss.

When conservatives make these gaffes, we read about them for years (even when the gaffe turns out to be manufactured as when Bush-41 supposedly didn’t know what a supermarket scanner was).
But most people speaking in front of crowds are going to fumble their words or say things that don’t make sense. So my caution to the GOP is to not make too much of them.
Obama/Biden are wrong on too many issues… it’s up to conservatives to get the “casual voter” to understand what these issues are and why the libs are wrong and conservatives are right (e.g. “gas stamps”).

I disagree with with you So Cal. For years conservatives figured the average American would understand or know enough that some flubs or mis statements wouldn’t be used to discredit larger ideas. It didn’t work. Leftists have no shame. They use lies and mis statements to undermine good conservative work. We need to fight back anyway we can. Getting in liberals and their allies in the media faces is the only answer.
An example, McCains “I don’t care if we are in Iraq for 100 years”. He was making a comparison to Germany Japan and western Europe. In peace, we can station garisons for peaceful purposes in Kuwait, Saudi, Iraq etc, making a hot spot in the world, less so. But no, the media and the leftists portrayed him not caring if we continued a hot war for 100 years. Any fool would know that with the Liberals in this country, they can’t withstand a battle for more than a few months much less 100 years.

Wait. Back up. Remind me again,…who is this Joe Biden person?

It seems to me that if Bush is an idiot for his public speaking, it should be fair to point out what total f*ing, retards Obama/Biden are.

At this point, TGC, for me it isn’t even about Obama being wrong on every issue. That’s become totally irrelevant, and I don’t even know where I would get the energy or inclination to debate an Obama supporter about his stand on “the issues” versus McCain’s. What are his positions on the “issues?” Isn’t it even less clear than 6 months ago? His supporters have no idea either. He’s done nothing but convince me that as President he’ll just do whatever FEELS right whenever issue X comes up and hope for the best (of course, he has GOOD INTENTIONS, so that’s 99.99% of “succeeding” as far as Liberals are concerned anyway). I think the anxiety and apprehension I once had about an Obama Presidency has been replaced with just pure boredom whenever the guy opens his mouth ONLY because I believe the McCain/Palin ticket has placed the Presidency out of his grasp. I used to think Obama was one of those intellectually brilliant Harvard guys whose leftist views made him annoyingly dangerous but ultimately useless in the long run. But he’s been running such a terrible campaign with one screw up after another that I don’t even think he’s particularly bright anymore. The word savvy will never be used to describe his run for the White House–for example, how does the campaign respond to McCain’s effective ads comparing him to a vapid celebrity? Well, you plan an opulently obscene celebrity spectacular and get the coveted endorsement of political-punchline Barbara Streisand of course!

Point taken, Gene. I just fear that too much reliance on gaffes will obscure legitimate policy questions (as in should the gummint issue gas stamps to the “poor” - a recent proposal).
THe MSM filter makes it difficult to get conservatives idea in front of the “casual voters” who decide elections… so the bandwidth is valuable. Biden’s Lazarus imitation was funny in a sad sort of way but it won’t win the election.

I agree with SoCalRobert. Gaffes are fun fodder, but they distract from attempts to educate the public. We cant talk about Tony Rezko if everyone is talking about lipstick on pigs, or Biden telling wheelchair bound people to stand up.
