She may well rank as the worst Speaker ever, though my knowledge of House Speakers doesn’t go back very far. She’d be ever more powerful in an Obama Administration.

Didn’t she and Reid say “Screw you guys, I’m going home!” at the beginning? I seem to recall Reid saying that nothing could be done. Is that patriotic?

Isn’t Pelosi suppose to be the SPEAKER of the House. Everyones speaker? I remember how they use to hammer Newt for not being everyones speaker not just the Republican caucus.
And SO Cal is right…Frank, Dodd and others ought to be perp walked frog marched across the courthouse parking lot for all of us to jeer at. Crooks. Splashed across the newspapers should be the donations to Clinton, Dodd, Obama etc from Fannie and Freddie. Crooks. Why aren’t we demanding they pay back the money to middle Americans?

Pelosi expressed confidence in Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) and Rep. Chris Dodd (D-CT) as negotiators in this process.

Pelosi has chutzpah, that’s for sure. Talk about your target-rich environment.

I’d give a week’s pay if W was possessed by a spirit able to make him give a coherent, spirited speech and then get him on the telly explaining exactly how we got here – kicking ass and naming names.

It’s one thing to uphold the dignity of the Oval Office and all that but there comes a time when telling the hard, cold, painful truth needs to happen.

W sends troops to kill and be killed – yet he’s too high-falutin to fire both barrels at the Murthas and Durbins who call our troops Nazis.

And now he’s asking us to spend billions in a possibly futile attempt to head off an economic collapse and… nothing more than an anemic little non-partisan “speech”. Desperate times call for blunt talk.

If he can’t grow a set and do battle then, perhaps, he should resign and let Pres. Cheney finish the job.

For my money, the unpatriotic Republicans should stonewall this whole fiasco and force the patriotic Democrats to pass it and wear it.

Help me out here. This is the greatest crisis since Coke changed its formula, but it can wait for the Jewish holidays to end. Are Jewish holidays non-religious? What if the Church of Scientology calls an emergency holiday?
