Liberal “Tolerance” On Display in Manhattan
To quote Glenn Reynolds, they told me if George W. Bush were re-elected there would be mobs of intimidating citizens suppressing speech and sowing the seeds of intolerance.
They were right! (h/t – Jawa Report)

I’m hoping that all those gun toting religious fanatics in flyover country come out to vote in November.
Ahmadinejad was just welcomed and feted by those middle finger idiots, but people supporting an American presidential candidate are scorned and reviled.
I hate these daily poll, with their 1/4 point shift one way or another, but unfortunately there seems to be some validity there – but I’m still praying that on election day – the thinking people in this country come out and vote.

If Obama supporters were jeered as they walked down the street, it would be frontpage news and Al Sharpton would be on every news channel that evening.

It would be interesting to see the reverse — an Obama march in a densely packed conservative area. Harder to find the right place for it — most urban areas are fairly liberal.
Perhaps the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

This is a very timely tie-in to a disturbing experience I had today.
This afternoon, while I was helping my mom (who is liberal) prepare food for the holiday, she mentioned that a friend of hers (who is very, very liberal) made a ridiculous statement about the upcoming election that she thought I’d find amusing. Interestingly, it was nearly apolitical, but even more ludicrous than I’d imagined. In fact, it was so bizarre that, even given this friend’s general wackiness, I could not believe it. Here’s how the rest of our conversation went:
Me: “But it is so silly. I just can’t imagine she’d say that. I mean, when you told me she’d said something that was ‘out there’, I figured it would be something like what she to me after the 2004, that she thought all people who voted for Bush were stupid.”
My Mom: “I wouldn’t say that that’s weird. I agree with that.”
Me: “You think everyone who voted for Bush is stupid?” [non-committal shrug] “Do you think I’m stupid?”
Note: I graduated from an Ivy League university with a degree in political science and am now taking the pre-reqs so I pursue a master’s in genetic counseling.
My Mom: “I think you were so young you didn’t realize that he is the worst president in my lifetime.”
Well, I told her that I disagreed with that assesment and, since neither of us wanted to fight, we changed topics right after that…but my mother thinks that I was either stupid or naive. And I’m pretty sure she doesn’t think I’m naive anymore…
I guess I already knew that liberals, in general, think their ideological opponents are stupid or evil and (as the footage above shows) are so terrible that they should be drowned out. I just somehow never thought my mother was one of them…or that, if she was, she thought that of me.

Translation: Don’t confuse me with facts.
can you say president obama??
If George Soros couldn’t buy the WH and ACORN couldn’t steal the election for Kerry, what makes you think they can do it for Comrade Obama? What’s more, despite your “chope”, Americans still don’t dig radical Communists.

Michael’s comment had nothing to do with the thread. As per usual, when liberals don’t have anything to say to explain themselves, they resort to name calling.

i have to say that watching this video hurt…but i also have to say that although i plan on voting for the McPalin ticket…I do think that Bush was an incredibly inept President…flipped on everything he said during the campaign….hmmm just like guess who…oh yeah and the ties to the middle east are eerily similar to barry’s….now that’s scary…McPalin other than Hillary are in MVHO the true Patriots…..

Notice how once again it is liberals themselves who are the very things they decry. They accuse Republicans of somehow silencing dissent (and they do so by the thousands in books, magazines, newspapers, on tv, cable, in the movies, the stage and in the streets no less), yet when a conservative tries to speak, liberals rush the stage and riot, throw things, drown out the speaker, turn off their sound system, and you have Obama suing, calling for the justice department to prosecute, threatening radio and tv stations, and using lawyers, prosecutors and law enforcement to intidmidate and threaten anyone who criticizes him. People are threatening riots and race wars if Obama does not win. (Remember how the left was threatening to riot/rioting in Mexico if their socialist didnt win.)
These people are not intellects, they are thugs. It is a gross misuse of the word to call them intellects. There is nothing intellectual about them. Liberalsm is an entirely emotional, not intellectual, ideology. They are group-thinkers, not free-thinkers. Which is precisely why it has always been the left that tries to silence dissent.
Obama is suing people who criticize him NOW. He is calling for the Justice Department to prosecute people who crticize him NOW. Do people think he is going to discover a new-found respect for the first amendment AFTER he gets elected? He has promised as one of his first acts to investigate the Bush administration for war crimes (the criminalization of politics). And Democrats cant wait to silence talk radio with the Orwellian named “fairness” doctrine.
They want to control every aspect of corporations from how much they pay the unskilled workers at the bottom, to how much they pay the executives at the top, to what products they make, and how they do it. They want to nationalize healthcare, and the energy industry, they are on the brink of nationalizing the auto industry, the mortgage industry and the banks.
For eight years they have decried the “fascism” of the Bush administration, and here they are doing everything in their power to usher in real fascism themselves.
These are frightening times. Be afraid. Be very afraid… and go volunteer for McCain/Palin!
