The Left remind me of those apocalyptic types who come up with a date for armageddon. They spend their time waiting for it to arrive. It does. It passes and nothing happens. Instead of saying “Wow! That didn’t work. Let’s not make that mistake again,” they simply reset their core belief and come up with a new deadline.

I know that I’m preaching to the choir here but I adopt conservative ideals because they are time tested and proven to be successful. If you work hard, keep focused, live within your means and provide a skill that is in high demand and low supply, then you will be successful. Nothing new. Nothing innovative. Time proven and effective. Most of you here know that. Our country’s founding fathers knew that.

Since then, more than my share of former classmates have done everything from rile against me and sending me hate mail to attempts to assassinate my character. I have been called an idiot, traitor and part of the problem with this country because I adopt conservative views. I made several rebuttals to their claims only to be met with more hostility.

It would never occur to me to tell any liberal to change their views or their mind on election day, let alone get in their face and belittle them. Mind you, I haven’t seen or heard from these people in over 2 decades. It was a bleak reminder to me that for some, high school never ends.

However. We live right across the street from the church where this precinct votes, and the Obamatrons feel entitled to put Obama signs in our yard, right next to the road (they’ve done this six times so far). Fortunately for them, neither of us was outside when somebody was putting those signs in our yard. That’s what the 12-gauge is for.

I see the little letter mind has left another turd in the punchbowl. I have never heard of a democrat sign being destroyed in Albemarle. Nor have I ever heard of the Republicans going to nursing homes and guiding the senile through the absentee voting process. “If it isn’t close, they can’t cheat.” But I can not image the Republican party coming down to sleaze tactics of the Democrats.

The political outburst in Albemarle is individual, not organized so far as I know. But the students who bus in for registration activities, etc. are given a wink and a nod by the Democrat party people.

I was walking my dog in the park in 2004 — september, october, somewhere in there — and noticed these little white dots along the side of the path. wondering what i was seeing, I looked a little closer and there was a little trail of dog poo one after another, as dogs are wont to do, doo. And out of each dropping stuck a little toothpick, and on each little toothpick was a little flag with a little picture of President Bush attached.

So not only does their ideology have them handling feces, but it was premeditated. They planned it, printed the pictures, attaches them to little toothpicks, all the while undoubtedly, thinking how superior and enlightened they were.

While I am sure there is a conservative or two who might get a little red in the face trying to argue a point with a liberal, I bet there are far more liberals who take things to physical extremes. What would you like to bet that the sort of person who will go vandalize a campaing sign that is pro-McCain only has the “courage” to do it in the dark of the night?
