If he had the character he hypocritically portrays himself as having he would resign and go home. The only consolation to the US is that history will include him in its growing list of powerful but dangerously ruinous members of Congress. I doubt he is corrupt, in the sense of taking bribes, etc. The only reason he is probably not corrupt is that he doesn't have the intelligence.
