The Keating 5 story only further distinguishes McCain and his character from pathetic weasels like Barney Frank. It’s not just that McCain was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Senate Ethics Committee and criticized only for exhibiting “poor judgment.” It’s the fact that regarding the Keating 5 issue, McCain has said: “The appearance of it was wrong. It’s a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do.” McCain further wrote in 2002 that attending the two April 1987 meetings was “the worst mistake of my life.”

McCain holds himself accountable, even when he could get away with sweeping it under the rug. His comments regarding his infidelity when his marriage was ending also show accountability and transformation. He placed the blame squarely on himself and said that he could not blame it on Vietnam, being a POW or his wife. The failure was HIS AND HIS ALONE.

That kind of self-examination is UNTHINKABLE to a liberal because one of their core beliefs is that someone else IS ALWAYS TO BLAME.

Talk about a non-issue. Both McCain and Glenn were absolved of responsibility. But what makes this particularly ridiculous is that McCain despises corruption, whereas Obama doesn’t seem to mind it at all. Keating is the reason we ended up with McCain-Feingold. That says a great deal about his character.

The more I read about this guy, the more scared I get. I really don’t trust him to be our president.

I’ve felt that this economic crisis has been ‘helped’ along by complicit Democrats. Did they play too much with the fire – to the point that in order for their guy to win – they will destroy this country??

My prayers for the welfare of our country are intensifying – I’m not sure what else to do.
