Oh man. If this isn’t the best thing I’ve seen on You Tube since The Lion King/Avenue Q video, I don’t know what is! (h/t – Instapundit)
By the way, in case you care… here’s what the lead singer of a-ha, Morten Harket, looks like today.
Daaaaaamn. Gimme some of that youth potion, dude!

He has an amazingly high falsetto voice. He can sing higher than I can, and I am a woman.
Wow. He turned out rather hunky.
In other pop culture news, Aging, washed-up, disease-ridden whore doesn’t like Sarah Palin.
This was THE band when I was a senior in high school circa 1985-86. I’m so glad to see that the lead singer not only kept his cute face but BOY HOWDY, did he bulk up or what!!
He could play Patrick Swayze in a biopic one of these days. DAMN…
“Take on me,” big guy. 😉

That a-ha video was one of my faves back in the 80s when MTV actually had programming worth watching. I’d say Harket has aged pretty well (unlike a certain washed-up, disease-ridden whore just mentioned).
What’s amazing is that Her Skankiness probably does think that Palin wants to go see her grind that worn out… well, never mind.

*Ahem* I was 12-13. We didn’t have MTV. One of the local affiliates had Friday Night Videos which ran from 12-1 AM. That was one of the coolest videos though, I thought.
I vaguely remember when MTV actually showed videos, but by then it wasn’t anything I was interested in.
I watched Beavis & Butthead though.
No wonder TGC and I get along. Except when I was in high school lived way out in the country and didn’t have cable. So, I’d go into town on the weekends and stay up with my friends and watch ‘Night Flight.’
Egads, I’m older than most of you. I was 21 when this song was popular. The video was groundbreaking for its time (as was “Cry” by Godley & Creme; one of the earliest examples of morphing & was around the same time as “Take On Me”). Boy, do I love those tight jeans Mr. Harket is wearing.
#6 – Ahem, I didn’t have cable either since my Southern Democrat parents were convinced it had nothing but porn on it (remember, these were the mid-1980s). I had to watch it on “Friday Night Videos” too.
However, we did have a local station here in Houston called Hit Video USA which broadcast over the airwaves within Loop 610. That’s where I caught most of my videos.
Best 1980s video? “You Might Think,” by The Cars. Even better than MJ’s “Thriller” mini-movie.
Best 1980s band? No question – Culture Club. Twenty-five years later and it still is danceable.

Peter H.
I beg to differ. Best 1980s video? Prime Mover.
You can’t beat exploding nuns.
It was a long time ago, I was a teenager, now I’m 35 and I think he looks even more handsome and charming and… Oh Morten!!….. Love from France- Kataline L.
