Burning McCain campaign sign lands men in hot water

Vandals strike York County GOP headquarters

Depictions of Sarah Palin et al.

UPDATE: Obama Rallies Turn Ugly (H/t Glenn)

UP-UPDATE:  In Albemarle County, Virginia, angry liberals have stolen “75-80% of all the large McCain-Palin signs.”  And those signs the Obama supporters fail to steal, they burn.  Read about it here. I wonder if Paul Krugman will take note of the vandalism and arson committed by these liberals.

I wondered how long it would take you to ignore the “Kill him” and “Off with his head” and “Bomb Obama” calls by the Republicans this cycle to leapfrog to these stories.

The ugly desperation of the McCain campaign rampages further out of control:

Media Bubble, Oct. 8 — John McCain’s bid for the Oval Office suffered another stunning blow yesterday when the Arizona senator referred to Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, as “my opponent.” The campaign-shattering remark came during a vicious, Hitlerian speech before an audience of drooling right-wing drones in one of those states in the middle, possibly rectangular.

“I believe that we should do things one way,” McSame sneered, his shrunken, twisted body and hideous visage producing overwhelming revulsion in all sane people who beheld him. “But my opponent feels we should do things a different way.”

Malkin’s montage could be even longer if she included all the Bush stuff. Wasnt there actually a book that fantasized about killing Bush?

I have no doubts that there aren’t a few unhinged people on the right, but let’s not forget the left took the concept of unhinged and claimed it as their birthright.

What was GPW saying about the Left Wing never-got-over-high-school mentality:

What I feel for (Palin) privately could be described as violent, nay, murderous, rage. When Palin spoke on Wednesday night, my head almost exploded from the incandescent anger boiling in my skull.
    …
For many of us looking back at high school, we can now feel a smug superiority towards the homecoming queen. Sure, she was pretty and popular in high school, catering to the whims of boys and cheering on their hockey games, but what happened to her after high school?

Often, she popped out some kids and ended up toiling in some not particularly impressive job. We can look back and say, we might have been ambitious nerds in high school, but it ultimately paid off. What’s infuriating, and perhaps rage-inducing, about Palin, is that she has always embodied that perfectly pleasing female archetype, playing by the boys’ game with her big guns and moose-murdering, and that she keeps being rewarded for it.

whine whine whine. My sister’s best friend in Florida told her yesterday that her Obama sign was up two days before it was stolen. She spoke the headquarter and the police and it is happening all over her area which is heavily Republican. Not only stolen but some have been burned. You whine about voter fraud while your party is just as guilty as the Dems. Grow up the RNC is just as scummy as the DNC, politics has degenerated to the circus it is now and there’s plenty of blame to go around. As long as you have freaks like Malkin, Coulter, Savage and the rest driving the robots into a frenzy of hate it will never change.

Such a bunch of little babies pretending top know what they’re talking about.

There was a movie that depicted the assassination of Bush. Madonna’s over-the-top performance the other week comparing McCain to Hitler was a new low. And, of course, Acorn has registered over a million “new” voters.

I’ve been involved in politics for over 50 years and don’t put much stock in reports of political sign vandalsim or theft. Partisans on both sides, often kids, target yard signs. For every Republican sign torn down in one locale a Democratic sign is torn down somewhere else. But I have never seen evidence that one party or the other has organzed sign destruction.

I am still shaken, however, by a personal experience.

The other day, a local conservative Republican honcho took note of an Obama bumper sticker on my new Town Car and said “puttin’ that nigger’s sticker on your car could damage a lot of the paint”. I’ve known the guy a long time and am sure he wasn’t joking. He won’t do it himself, but if Obama wins I expect my car to be vandalized. He knows a lot of the hayseeds who yell “nigger lover” when they pass my car in their pick-ups.

You accuse them of racism (rightly, unless you’re making up the story) yet you refer to them as “hayseeds.” Way to show your tolerance.

Obama called his grandma a “typical white person.”

I think the media hate campaign against McCain-Palin helps reinforce the Obama theme that if McCain is elected, the next four years will be just like the last eight. One of the things that has been constant through the last eight years, and that people are sick of, is the constant media hatred and hounding of the president and vice president. People are sick of it, and there’s a clear media message “Elect the guy we love, and you won’t have to hear us beating up McCain and Palin for the next four years.”

I note the board lefties are brushing off the reports of violence against Republicans as “No big deal.” Sheesh. Can you say, “brownshirts?”

#12: So, Jack Allen, after 50 years of being “involved in politics,” the whole sign stealing and vandalism thing is equally distributed among Democrats and Republicans and really nothing to make such a big fuss about. But one of your racist friends makes some reference to your Obama sticker and you are left “shaken?” Your car hasn’t actually been vandalized due to your support of Obama, yet you’re certain at some point, it WILL happen.

What you’re really saying is, threatening or violent attacks on an individual’s free speech rights is nothing to get all upset about–unless, of course, it MIGHT, possibly, maybe, happen to YOU.

Yeah, that’s a CHILLING story, Jack. You should tell it to groups, sitting around campfires.

And by the way, Jack, I’ve asked you this before but you didn’t answer: why do you hang out with so many racists?

The difference, torrent, is that when some moonbat (almost always someone nobody’s ever heard of) on the right says something stupid/evil, the whole world hears about from now until Christmas and beyond.

When big-name libs spout similar bilge, nary a peep.

I guess there’s no hope at all that the lefties will stop playing the race card. I am really, really tired of it.

    Fight back, Robert.

The next time they do, bring up erstwhile Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who point-blank told a black woman that she should be ashamed to be investigating him and that she should be ashamed for riding in a car with a man named White.

Then remind them that his mother Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-MI), her leader Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama all endorsed and supported him.

Then leave them spinning about how Democrats can’t possibly be racist, even though they fully endorse and support discrimination on the basis of skin color.

if Obama wins I expect my car to be vandalized

Jack A: that is an *absurd* fear. Obama bumper stickers are everywhere. Everywhere. It’s the McCain cars that are considered “different” and possibly vandalized. You’ve told us a self-discrediting story.
