Well, jimmy, until the liberal induced housing sh*t hit the fan, we had record revenues coming into the treasury. Even more so than when lord BJ was screwing interns in the Oval Oriface.

I'm so tired of hearing that Democrats are better for gay folks. Does anyone here see Obama stating that he's in favor of gay marriage? Essentially, his position is little different from that of McCain; McCain is against gay marriage, but does support partnership rights for gay couples.

Although I'm not gay, other than centuries of various religious teachings, I see no reason why we should not have the same marriage rights for gay couples as we do for everyone else. But - it may take more time for people to come around.

In the meantime, why not vote for the candidate who will do more to fight insane government spending (McCain's done it in the past), the candidate who has fought her own party's graft, as Dan states (Palin), the candidates who really do want more freedom for people than the candidates who want to "do what we know is good for you"?

A while back, I told someone that I didn't consider myself a Republican because of various issues I had with some Republican candidates and some theoretically Republican positions. But - the person wondered why I didn't work to try to get the party to change their positions on those issues.

Good point. Today, my belief is that Democrats do far more to stifle creativity and freedom in financial markets, by overtaxing and overspending, to stop our freedom of expression and more. So - in the meantime, I will try to do what I can to encourage more Republicans to become enlightened on gay issues and freedoms.

I often wonder how many votes Republican candidates lose based solely on the GOP's reputation as the party of homophobia, racism, sexism, etc. I think fiscal conservatism appeals to tons of people on an intuitive level in a way Pelosi's irresponsible spending never will, but the mythology of GOP bigotry is so pervasive that for an indoctrinated liberal to embrace a Republican candidate causes enough cognitive dissonance to make one's head explode.

they end up supporting the Democratic Party, often contributing to its coffers because, they claim, it’s better for gay people.

Which means they end up supporting the Democrats because it satifies their self-righteous, self-pitying self-absorption in victimhood.

Pelosi and Reid are the two biggest reasons to keep Obama our of the White House. I can't even imagine what those two would come up with if there is no McCain with the veto pen.
