Because then they'd be putting up some collateral to "protect" marriage - they'd be outlawing divorce. But no, these folks want to believe they can go before God one day and say "until death do us part" and then, go down to the courthouse another day and say "he/she is dead to me now!" It's wrong. But would a Constitituional amendment outlawing divorce even get enough signatures to get on any ballot? Probably not. Because that would effect <i>their</i> life, rather than just effecting ours. And if by chance it did get on the ballot, it would be voted down, overwhelmingly. I have nothing but love for Madonna, but this is her second marriage. C'mon, that's just wrong. But that's how twisted our society is. People act like gay marriage is this mortal threat to marriage, while ignoring the fact that an ever growing segment of our society treats marriage as little more than a dating relationship, to be broken off at any time. Divorce is destroying marriage, not gay and lesbians.
