Is Joe Biden Fit to be Vice President?

October 27, 2008 by GayPatriotWest

It seems his thirty-six years in Washington have inured Joe Biden to the kid-glove treatment Democrats get from the national press corps.

When a reporter asks Republicans tough questions, they see it as par for the course and (usually) don’t complain.  But, when the news media challenge Democrats, they start whining and call their questioners “combative” as the Obama team labeled WFTV’s Barbara West for pressing the Delaware Democrat on his running mate’s rhetoric of redistribution.

The campaign retaliated by refusing to grant interviews to the station for the duration of the campaign.

And now Biden is whining about the treatment he got:

If a man can’t take the heat from a local reporter, how can he stand up to our nation’s adversaries?

Then, he goes on to plea for unity while savaging his political adversaries! Um, Joe, how can you bring people together when you keep accusing the other side of dividing us while ignoring the divisive politics on your own side?  And when you define as “mean” tough questions from an inquisitive reporter?

“We can’t wait until January, people need help now”.

Then why don’t you and your fellow Democrat multimillionaires like John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Teddy Kennedy, and others reach into your own pocket and give these people monetary help yourself?

Answer: because the point is not to help people, but to redistribute wealth from those who work to those who don’t.

Easiest answer I’ve had to give in months: NO.

    Next question? 😉

If Biden isn’t fit for service, please explain why in detail. What positions or actions besides being snippy with a reporter is he not fit?

If you feel that lack of civility to a reporter is a disqualifier, did you feel the same way when Dick Cheney famously made is curse-laden statements against a reporter? Also, when Cheney cursed on the Senate floor, did you feel he was unqualified?

Let’s have a serious discussion about this. What are your thoughts?

You and your fellow Democrats did, blakes.

So why won’t you practice what you preach and admit that Biden is unqualified, since you and your fellow Democrats did it to Cheney?

With Palin’s run-and-hide technique from the media for the last two months, and with the entire GOP’s constant whining about the media treatment, and Palin’s desperate complaining about how she needs to talk to people without the “filter” of the media (that is, you know, questions), this blog’s cheerleading of Palin rises to new heights of unintentional self-parody with this:

If a man can’t take the heat from a local reporter, how can he stand up to our nation’s adversaries?

Fear the Couric. Respect the Fey.

    ND30,

You say that I said something but I never did. Why do you continue to say that I have said things when you have no proof that I personally did? Are you a telepath?

Moreover, you didn’t answer my question. You skirted the issue. That’s sad. Again, I’m trying to have a discussion with you and not toss insults.

Frankly, I never said that Cheney was unqualified to serve as VP or President. He is qualified. But his actions working at Haliburton when he did deals with Iran troubled me as do his actions since becoming vice-president. Those actions in office, secret meeting on energy policy, involvement with decisions on the Iraq War or the Valerie Plame case have brought shame on the office.

ND30, I wish you could take a moment to have an actual discussion instead of pretending that I said something. You don’t know me personally. We’ve never met but you have on several occassions said that I have said things that I never did. Beyond being strange, it’s also intellectually lazy.

So, I’ve just given you some of my concerns about Cheney. What counterpoints do you have to offer? Do you agree with Cheney’s actions to swear about the reporter or his dealings with Iran while at Haliburton?

I would say the Biden is not qualified to be Vice President for a whole host of reasons not the least of which is that a Vice President ought to be able to think on his feet without having to petulantly refuse further contact with a news organization that asks him hard questions.

But perhaps Biden cannot think on his feet because at least one of them seems to be in his mouth most of the time and therefore he simply cannot maintain his balance.

It might be of note that his own party did not find him fit to be President in that each time he has run for President he has been soundly turned down by his own party. Those Demorats seem to know something about Biden!

How about that Joe Biden, a 36 year member of the United States Senate, an attorney and a current member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and its former Chairman, does not even know that the President of the Senate (i.e. the Vice President) is under Article II of the U.S. Constitution and not Article I of the U.S. Constitution.

How about that Joe Biden doesn’t know that the President of the Senate (i.e. the Vice President of the United States) presides over the Senate and he incorrectly stated that the only role of the VP is to cast a tie breaking vote.

It is also blatantly stupid and flat out wrong for the MSM and the Dumbocrats to complain that Governor Palin got it wrong when she said that the President of the Senate presides over the Senate and helps influence its policy……it is the one thing that the Dumocrats complained about VP Cheney in that he has an office in the Senate (which he is entitled to) and regularly meets with the GOP Senators to discuss policy….

Old Joe doesn’t know who the President was in 1929, no less that FDR did not speak to the nation on television in 1929 during the Stock Market Crash.

Need we add that old Joe telegraphed to our enemies that they should engage in efforts to attack this country so as to test Barack Nobama’s abilities as President, which he says are lacking and we won’t like the results of what he does.

Joe Biden as VP scares me as much as Nobama as President.

Biden can’t handle a basic question from a reporter..I shudder to think what he will do as VP (since he was touted as having amazing foreign policy knowledge.) The way he runs his mouth he will be giving away state secrets.

I find it amusing that a 66 year old man, who has been in politics for 36 plus years can’t handle a basic question from the Press then cries to Obama staffers who ban the reporter for asking a question and her whole television station…..just another example of the KGB tactics any one who opposes these Marxists will face….never mind the entire country having to put up with 4 to 8 years of these Marxists.

Notice how blakes is screaming and squalling about this while he, in his other posts, accuses GP and GPW of being racists because they used the word “thugocracy”.

But we’ll humor blakes with a simple example; if Valerie Plame was, as she claimed, a superdoubletopultrasecret agent who nobody knew worked for the CIA and who could never even be associated with the CIA because it would blow her cover…..why was she driving into CIA headquarters every single day to work?

The dead horse (or in this case, dead unicorn) of Sarah Palin avoiding the media is getting a little tired of the constant beating from leftist Democrat torrentprime.

BTW, with the audio and video of Obama saying the Warren Court wasn’t radical enough, and advocating government “redistributive” policies… can anyone still deny that the Obamassiah is, in fact, a radical Marxist?

If Biden isn’t fit for service, please explain why in detail.

    GLADLY!

    1. He supported not only pulling out of Vietnam, which resulted in a very damagind loss to the United States, and a victory for communism and Americas enemies, but he also supported cutting off promised support to the South Vietnamese, condemning them to slavery, and condemning millions of Cambodians to death in the killing fields.

    2. He supported the Mullahs rise to power in Iran, a Carter foreign policy position which we still suffer to this day.

    3. He opposed Reagan’s policies which resulted in the collapse of the Soviet Union.

    4. He opposed liberating our ally, strategically vital Kuwaiit, when Saddam invaded

    5. Biden voted for the war in Iraq, saying in 2002 that Saddam Hussein was a threat to national security that had to be removed, but began trying to undermine the war effort he approved as soon as it became politically expedient.

    6. Biden opposed the Surge which has been enormously successful, and claimed General Petraeus, the man behind that success, was “dead, flat wrong”

    7. Biden supported leaving Iraq at the height of that nations instability, which would have doomed not only Iraq, but embroiled the entire region in war.

    8. Biden was the number one advocate of the untenable policy of dividing Iraq into three nations.

    9. Biden more than anyone is responsible for the politicization of judicial confirmations, which has been devastating to American civil discourse, the separation of powers, and proper constitutional jurisprudence. And by extension, it can be said that Biden bears a hugely disproportionate amount of the responsibility for the divisiveness and venom that pervades modern American politics, and which has average Americans so bitterly divided.

    10. Biden pays his family from campaign coffers, and allows family members to lobby him. Biden’s son is embroiled in numerous corruption charges, all of which involve Biden in one respect or another, usually his contributors supporting his son’s shady financial dealings.

    11. Hes been in the Senate since 1972, and on the Judiciary committee for most of that time, currently as chair and he still has no idea what article of the Constitution establishes the branch of government in which he sits, and from which he derives his power, and no idea what the constitutional role of the Vice President is. Actually, worse than that, he thinks he knows and is 100% wrong. The story of his life.

and i could go on, but really, isn’t that enough?

I’m still trying to figure out how a douchebag like Biden can be unfit for president, TWICE, but somehow he’s fit for VP??? How does that work?

C’mon. If the liberals gave a crap about experience, they would have nominated Hillary.

Let’s have a serious discussion about this.

Let’s. However, I can’t seem to grasp that you really do want to have a serious discussion about ANYTHING when you write:

Those actions in office, secret meeting on energy policy, involvement with decisions on the Iraq War or the Valerie Plame case have brought shame on the office.

By “serious discussion”, do you mean that you get to unload dumbass liberal hysteria while we agree with you???

    Torrentprime,

They say even a broken clock is right twice a day, in which case, even a broken clock is right far more often than you.

With Palin’s run-and-hide technique from the media for the last two months,

Sarah Palin has had multiple media interviews and/or press conferences every single day for quite some time now. She has press conferences aboard her plane almost every day and I just watched another interview she did with Brian Williams.

It is your presiential candidate, Barack Obama, who has not held a press conference in over a month, wont go anywhere near the press section of his “O-Force One” — undoubtedly worried that someone might ask him a real question for once, or God forbid, a follow up, and blow the election for him like his Joe the Plumber answer already may have.

My prediction if Mr. Obama wins….

The Clinton’ will use their connections to stall everything Mr. Obama tries to put forward. This election was “hers”. Soon after, the press will eat him alive. The only thing the press loves more then building someone up, is bringing them down.

Look at Gov. D. Patrick. Multiply that by 10…

I also think there is a lot of hidden resentment in Washington on the part of the Dems. There have been people carefully building careers. Taking years to make the connection to make a successful bid for the White House and now this guy comes from nowhere with the full backing of the media…

They will turn on him and it will be ugly.

As to Biden…add some more to the list:
    1. He voted against the first Persian Gulf War.
    2. He voted against the Alaska Oil Pipeline…..yes, the one back in the 1970s that produced the current Alaska Oil pipeline.
    3. He voted against ANWAR.
    4. He is opposed to clean coal for any where in the USA followed by his inane comment that he really meant we should export clean coal technology to China.
    5. He opposed the surge in Iraq.

I am sure if we keep at it the list will grow longer by the millisecond.
