OTV, it also forgets that the economy is a web… when you raise taxes on anybody, you raise them on everybody.

Take corporations. Say we’re “only” going to raise taxes on corporations. Well – Who really pays those taxes? The consumer does… the MIDDLE CLASS.

Take rich people. Say we’re “only” going to raise taxes on them. Who really pays those taxes? Well, the rich person gets a tax accountant to divert money into strange tax shelters. The strange tax shelters are mediocre investments. In other words, you’ve just boosted the amount of bad (as opposed to good) investment in the country. Investment in viable businesses is lost. Multiple that 1,000,000 times over several years, and you’ve just destroyed jobs and weakened the nation’s economic fabric. In other words: the middle, working and poor classes all pay.

ILC, so that only leaves 51% of actual taxpayers to get a cut. Not looking so good anymore.

Sweden used to have a top income tax-rate of 150%…to pay it meant liquidating assets. And you didn’t have to earn millions to be in that bracket. And they taxed assets and capital too.

Why not have the top ten percent, instead of paying their measly 70 percent of all income taxes collected, pay their patriotic share of one hundred percent.

You mentioned Obama’s skinflitiness in the comments, and I just want to share that McCain gave 25% or more of his income to charities as well as 1.8 million in profits from his book. How much in profits from Obama’s two books went to charities? Say no more.
A thief is always more generous with your monies than he is with his own. Look in the mirror Obama/Biden and see the thieves staring back.

Obama says “I will cut 95% of people’s taxes”… but (1) that’s mathematically impossible since 44% of people already pay no federal taxes; (2) his announced program is to “spread the wealth”, make everyone their brother’s keeper, and praise higher taxes as somehow “patriotic”. What do you think Obama is going to do?

Ted, great slogan. I may put it on a bumper sticker. There is nothing the least bit patriotic, unselfish or even helpful about high taxes. And there is nothing destructive or selfish about low taxes. Quite the opposite. Ed Morrissey, as usual, sums it up like no one can:

Most [earners] today invest [their money], which creates jobs, or spend it, which creates even more jobs, or donate it to charity â€” which works much more effectively and with much less overhead than filtering it through government bureaucracy. Those who earn the money want to direct it in the manner they see fit, in the most efficient manner possible. Thatâ€™s not selfish, itâ€™s just common sense. Only someone in love with government power could see it as anything else.

And what are people who are in love with the power of government, kids? Hint: FASCISTS. Of course, they may not realize it.

My grandmother…who was a live-long Republican even through the Depression and a member of the GOP National Committee several times…taught me that Taxation is Theft, and anytime any government puts it’s hand in your pocket that it had better be absolutely necessary.
