Last night, I had a thought which I hope I’ll time to look into in the next few days.
We keep reading about many far-left items on the agenda of congressional Democrats, a $300 billion dollar stimulus package, card-check legislation for union organization, regulation of free speech through restoration of the so-called “Fairnes Doctrine.” And on and on.
And I wondered which of the Democrats elected on Tuesday campaigned on these issues. Unlike Republican candidates for the House in 1994, Democrats this year did not unite behind a particular reform platform.
Please let me know if you have evidence that they did. Or want to list other items on the Democrats agenda that they may not (or may) have campaigned on.
Seems to me the left has been whining for the last six years that if you play music too loud or turn the air conditioning too high in a cell where a terrorist is being held, they call it torture. If US Intelligence listens in on calls made to known foreign terrorists, it’s “domestic spying.”
Now, they want to get all technical and claim “spreading the wealth around” isn’t actually socialism?
Spread teh wealth: FAIL.
If I had my way at Gitmo, I’d be feeding them kosher bacon while blasting Jackie Mason over the PA system 24-7.
“Did Democrats Campaign on their Leftist Agenda?”
They rarely run on anything else
So, does anyone think NEA-supporting Hussein and Michelle Obama will enroll their daughters in the DC Public schools?
Notice also how Barack Obama and the NEA support black teachers who browbeat children whose dads are in the military and dare to voice opposition to The One.
#7 – ND30, I saw that on Michelle Malkin’s blog. Makes me want to bitch-slap her like a drag queen.
Regards,
Peter H.
#7: I saw that, too. Since when is it okay (and in my home state, no less) for teachers to bully children on the taxpayer’s dime?
*thud*
Attmay and I agree on something. Lucifer is calling the divine now, asking him to fix the pilot light.
And that’s the problem, LCRW, if not for the ‘net, we’d never have heard at all about Ayers, ‘spreading the wealth around’ Wright, the LA times holding the tape or anything else.
The Democrats didn’t openly campaign on the Fairness Doctrine: only a few talked about it when asked. Obama is against it. The stimulus package surely is a bad idea, but after we gave $700 billion to Wall Street, I’m not really very emotional about *only* $300 billion.
