Juvenile Conservatives
Someone invited me to a Facebook Group, “Impeach Barack Obama.”
Oh, grow up. We conservatives cannot prosper by copying the antics of the loony left these past eight years.

Sorry Dan…. I’ll retract the invitation.
Just kidding, of course. It wasn’t me!

Wow! I guess him not actually being President yet doesn’t matter. I fear for our future!
Comment by David — November 6, 2008 @ 6:17 pm - November 6, 2008
That FB group was started by Joe Biden.
Comment by Jeremayakovka — November 6, 2008 @ 6:35 pm - November 6, 2008
I want a full 4 years of Obama, or at least enough of his actions to warrant a legitimate removal.
Hmm, what about a Gay Patriot group
Comment by Colocelt — November 6, 2008 @ 7:22 pm - November 6, 2008
I agree, Dan. That FB group is about as stupid as the “Impeach Congress” bumper stickers I saw around 1999.
Let’s give The Snob at least until 2010 before we re-take the House and Senate. Like we did with Slick Willie.
Regards,
Peter H.

Let’s at least give the man time to commit an impeachable offense.
Comment by Attmay — November 6, 2008 @ 7:37 pm - November 6, 2008
I hate to say it, but it is ODS-Obama Derrangement Syndrome. BTW, are you going to comment on the back-stabbing of Gov. Palin? That is really something disgusting. And we need to get rid of scum that will not go on the record. A lot of people went on the record with their concerns, but to out and out lie. Wait until the Saracuda writes HER book about the campaign!

Not even going to give things a chance, huh?
Comment by God of Biscuits — November 6, 2008 @ 8:22 pm - November 6, 2008
Without having seen the facebook group, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to me that the facebook group is merely a parody of the stupid liberal ones. However, one must also recognize that there are nutcases on both sides of the aisle. We just have to prevent them from defining us, something the left has failed to do.
Comment by Joel — November 6, 2008 @ 8:34 pm - November 6, 2008
fair point, Joel.
Comment by GayPatriotWest — November 6, 2008 @ 8:42 pm - November 6, 2008
Apparently, the reason I’ve been getting hatemail is because HuffPo listed my blog as a “Right-Wing Hate Site.” While I would wear that as a Badge of Honor (there should be a logo, don’t you think?), it is a little silly considering my blog is primarily devoted to fart jokes and pictures of women with large tits.
Comment by V the K — November 6, 2008 @ 8:44 pm - November 6, 2008
AttMay should know. He’s a regular.
Comment by V the K — November 6, 2008 @ 8:44 pm - November 6, 2008
There are, at present, 32 “Impeach Obama” groups on Facebook. Thousands of members already.
Comment by jimmy — November 6, 2008 @ 8:58 pm - November 6, 2008
Obviously an impeach Obama movement is ridiculously premature — he hasn’t even been sworn in yet!
But, as has long been said, turnabout is fair play. On such Ann Coulter had this to say:

“We just have to prevent them from defining us, something the left has failed to do.”
Not true Joel, it is only those on the right who have defined all the left by the kooks. Normal people know the difference.

#12: Only for the fart jokes.
Comment by Attmay — November 6, 2008 @ 9:20 pm - November 6, 2008
I made my own right wing hate site logo. C&C welcome.
Comment by V the K — November 6, 2008 @ 9:22 pm - November 6, 2008
Now there are 155 Impeach Obama FB groups. The pictures for them are lovely, if racism and religious bigotry are your thing.
Comment by jimmy — November 6, 2008 @ 9:33 pm - November 6, 2008
Racism and religious bigotry are the “thing” of some Californians I could mention.

Speaking of juvenile conservatives….
Some of you juvenile conservative Tolkien fans might appreciate this.
And speaking of t shirts, V, you really oughta make that Death Star into a t shirt, its hilarious.
Comment by American Elephant — November 7, 2008 @ 12:42 am - November 7, 2008
OTOH I sympathize with the urge to throw the Left’s slutty antics back in their faces.
How about this for an over-the-top FB group: “CHIMPeach Obama”?
A preferred vilification of the outgoing president was that he supposedly resembled a chimp – in demeanor as well as looks. But tag Obama with anything like that…. and you’ll be tagged as something that begins with “R” and ends with “T” (and it’s not “right”)!
Comment by Jeremayakovka — November 7, 2008 @ 1:20 am - November 7, 2008
AE in #20, LOL. I might just get that shirt to wear for fun. My liberal friends might think I’d come around, without bothering to read the text beneath!

Thanks for the LOL, I hoped someone would think it was funny besides me

Do you even read before taking a huge dump on here?

We should give Barry a chance to see what he will do to our nation. If he ends up stealing our 401k’s, killing off talk radio, making nice with Iran and Venezeula. Then feel free to start the impeach Obama websites.
We should be the loyal opposition, that will call our congress critters, visit their offices and speak loud!
Comment by matt from california — November 7, 2008 @ 2:41 am - November 7, 2008
So there are umpty up FB sites wanting to impeach a President who hasn’t be sworn in yet? It is just possible that some, I’m not saying all, have been set up by trolls to make those who didn’t/maybe won’t support Obama look like evil racists? That’s all I’m sayin’….just because it’s in print, doesn’t make it true and just because it’s on the’net doesn’t make it true either.
Comment by Mokey — November 7, 2008 @ 10:07 am - November 7, 2008
Americans, both left and right, need to come away from the stupid idea that you impeach presidents (and VPs and anyone else) for unpopular policy decisions. I remain ambivalent on the Clinton impeachment and think, on balance, it was the wrong thing to do. But even if the impreachment of Bill Clinton was misguided, at least their were specific legal reasons for it. Most of those who wanted George Bush impeached had virtually no legal reasoning for it; they just hated him and thought the Clinton impeachment somehow justified a push for Bush’s impeachment. We need to end this stupid knee-jerk impeachment culture.
Even if Barack Obama happens to fulfill our worst nightmares with respect to policy decisions, he probably will not commit an impeachable offense. I’m not saying he’ll commit one and get away with it. I’m saying I doubt he’ll even commit one. We as conservatives and as Republicans need to be protagonists, not antagonists. We need to beat them on ideas, not petty politics. We need to hope that Barack Obama has a successful presidency, for we as Americans reap what the President sows. There is a good chance he will fail as president, and then, yes, we need to be ready with a better vision and a better plan in 2012, not to mention congressional races in 2010. But if Barack Obama turns out to be an effective president who makes liberal ideas work better than we expect and who leads in a more centrist way than we expect, well, I doubt that will happen, but let’s at least wait and be magnaminous until we have reason to be otherwise. Let’s try to outrun our competitors, not trip them. Our country will be the better for it.

Impeachment is for wussies. Resignation is far more delectable and tasty, especially when it’s preceded by a few years of incompetence, the revelation of an earthshaking scandal, and the trampling of the resigner by the squeaking hordes of Prada-clad rats frantically trying to escape the ship.

#25 TGC, look around at the comments on many if not most of the threads on here since Tuesday. Defeat, predictions of horrible things, extreme animosity towards those who voted for Obama etc. It’s beyond not giving him a chance for y’all, you don’t want him to succeed in anything. Not all of you, some are intelligent and rational.
Comment by a different Dave — November 7, 2008 @ 6:42 pm - November 7, 2008
Agreed, but you do realize that the majority of American presidents have had impeachment proceedings against them, including our first.
hmm. You give him more credit than I do. I am fairly certain, based on past behavior, and the sheer size of his ego, that he will. He comes from the most corrupt political machine in America and it shows. Forget Rezko, ACORN and his past campaign shennaningans, I seriously doubt he was unaware that his campaign was egregiously breaking campaign finance law, he was certainly involved in attempts to use the Justice Department to silence critics, and even now he has established an illegal .gov website for the non-existant “office of the president elect” which appears to be raising funds and collecting data for future campaigns.
I will be shocked if he doesn’t commit several impeachable offenses. The question is, will Republicans have the balls to do anything about it.
Comment by American Elephant — November 7, 2008 @ 8:15 pm - November 7, 2008
The problem is, Social Security worked great for years, socialized medicine worked at first in those countries where it was tried, even giving home loans to those who couldnt afford them “worked well” for years. That is, some liberal policies fail outright, others take generations to destroy. Should we congratulate him for policies that appear to work but are doomed to fail? Hardly.
Comment by American Elephant — November 7, 2008 @ 8:20 pm - November 7, 2008
I find the power-grab antics of Harry Reid rather childish. Sucks to be you, Joe Lieberman.
Comment by V the K — November 7, 2008 @ 8:23 pm - November 7, 2008
The funny thing about history Dave, is that it shows what works and what doesnt. Obamas proposals have all been tried before, and they always fail. Rationality requires not doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Comment by American Elephant — November 8, 2008 @ 9:08 am - November 8, 2008
So oh wise one, what has “worked”. When as the fabled American Dream ever been for the very few at the top. When has there NOT been a significant number of people barely scraping by while a minority have plenty AND control all the power? When has whatever it is that you advocate (which from what I tell is reward the right and F&^k the poor) actually benefited the whole country. Actually, I can’t remember what you advocate because the majority of what you write is damnation of the left, defense of every disgusting act by the right, and personal insults towards anyone who disagrees. Perhaps that’s all there is to Republicans?
