Notice the narcissism of Mark and his fellow leftists; letâ€™s tie up San Francisco traffic on Friday night at 5:30 PM, right when everyone is eager to get home to their families and start the weekend, so that we can pitch one of our little fits and get all sorts of TV coverage. Tell you what, Mark; go find someone elseâ€™s cause, and stop tying gay people to your need to make a public spectacle.

Wow. I can’t even imagine what kind of twisted logic leads to comments like that.

The people marching in San Francisco were overwhelmingly homosexual. One of our many openly-gay city supervisors got the march approved with city agencies.

I showed up to show my support for something I believe in even though there are many (likely including people on this site who just lost their right to marry) who would argue that it is of no consequence to my life.

I think that’s the antithesis of narcissism.

Enjoy the Republican party. They’ll soon kick you out…Hopefully you won’t have alienated the Democrats too.

I saw the exit pollsters and swooped in to volunteer to fill this out! It made me very happy to be included in the data. It makes me happy to know that not every place had an exit poll either, thus there are even more of us than stated. This gives me HOPE…that there is someone datable out there!!!

@John W and Tim: don’t doubt the motives of others. I was at the Civic Center at 5:30 yesterday with my girlfriend and two of my friends (I suppose that’s not a ton; tough to organize on short notice, I guess, and others had their own groups). We marched to the Castro and on to Dolores Park. I’m the tallest so I carried our sign the entire way: “No Hate in my state.”

I won’t claim to have stood in front of a polling station on Tuesday with a ‘No on 8′ sign, but my three friends did. There are lots of straight people in California (at least those in my demographic: ~30, Democrat) who are really angry at this outcome.

Republicans? They’ll take your vote, but they don’t care.

One of these days a republican will come along who I will vote for. One who is fiscally conservative, not so damn hawkish, reasonably pro-choice ( I don’t believe in killing live babies and see no problem with parental notification), and believes all people gay and straight have a right to marry and are reasonably free of discrimination. I could care less whom he prays to or if he prays at all, color..don’t care, man or woman..don’t care…religion…christian, muslim, hindu…don’t give a s@#t. Until then I cannot vote for a republican party who doesn’t want me and appears to be growing more white, southern and evangelical. It is now a regional party, and although I live in OKlahoma it doesn’t feel welcoming to me.

I’m amazed that 25-27% of us voted for McCain. I feel like I’m surrounded almost entirely of liberal democratic gay men. I guess like me, they tend to keep a pretty low profile – I’ve been hounded in public on more than one occasion.
