Imagine If President Obama’s Family Friend
Was Timothy McVeigh

November 14, 2008 by GayPatriot

Well, it appears the equivalent is true.  William Ayers has admitted (in a dog-bites-man story) that he is in fact a “family friend” of the Obamas.

Ayers defended his bomb-throwing past and repeated a statement that has infuriated his critics: “I don’t think we did enough.”

The college professor also argued to “Good Morning America’s” Chris Cuomo today that the bombing campaign by the Weather Underground, the group he helped found, was not terrorism.

The Weather Underground bombed the Capitol, the Pentagon and the New York City Police Department in protest of the Vietnam War.

“It’s not terrorism because it doesn’t target people, to kill or injure,” Ayers said.

Uh…. yeah.

Despite Obama’s attempt to portray their relationship as a distant one, Ayers, in a new afterward to his book “Fugitive Days,” describes Obama as a “neighbor and family friend.”

On “GMA,” Ayers again downplayed any close ties to Obama despite the reference to”family friend.”

“I’m talking there about the fact that I became an issue, unwillingly and unwittingly,” he said. “It was a profoundly dishonest narrative. … I’m describing there how the blogosphere characterized the relationship.”

“I would say, really, that we knew each other in a professional way on the same level of, say, thousands of other people,” he said.

He added, echoing a phrase that Obama used to describe Ayers, “I am a guy around the neighborhood.”

Despite admitting they are “family friends”, Ayers has the Obama Campaign’s talking points about their relationship down to a tee.

Unbelieveable.

I tend not to be a conspiracy theorist, but it is now rumored that Obama’s memoir Dreams of My Father was ghost-written by Ayers.

The real story: Ayers and Obama gay-married in Taliban wedding and honeymooned in Baghdad.

    Unbelievable.

I think it’s unbelievable that conservatives are still recycling the same failed talking points.

Hard to say that a talking point “failed”, when the mainstream media so desperately hustled to cover it up in order to protect Obama.

The question is why, if Erik thinks it is so ineffective, that Erik doesn’t simply admit that Ayers was and remains an unrepentant domestic terrorist who planned attacks, planted bombs, was involved in the killing of Americans, and who, had a bomb not fortuitously misfired, was planning to kill hundreds of American servicemen and civilians — and that Barack Obama not only knew Ayers, but approved of Ayers’s philosophy and in fact worked closely with Ayers on several projects.

The media is fond of describing Ayers and the Wethermen as having bombed the Pentagon and the US Capitol. Just buildings. It feeds into the “We were just making a statement–we didn’t want to hurt anyone” myth. But they firebombed a judge’s home with sleeping children and they murdered three police officers. They had plans to murder soldiers at Fort Dix but their incompetence stopped that plot.

The other quote that is fascinating is, “It’s not terrorism because it doesn’t target people, to kill or injure.” Note that Ayers uses the present tense. He still considers this on ongoing revolution. He’s not at all repentent. He is a murderer, a coward and a liar.

Tired talking points? Are you referring to the daily press releases coming from the Democrats in Congress? The DNC?

The issue, Erik, are the people Obama associates with. Seeing as he got elected (thanks in large part to a media cover up), it’s a moot point.

But if/when it turns out that he governs rules as a hard-core lefty, we shouldn’t be surprised.

GP’s point is perfectly valid. If McCain had hung around with Timothy McVeigh, attended the Westboro Church and listened to harangues by Fred Phelps, the media would have (correctly) been obsessed with it.

If McVeigh could have gotten off on a technicality, where do you suppose he’d be teaching? Columbia? Harvard?

That would mean that the United States of America would have incarcerated, tried, and found guilty of federal, capital crimes Bill Ayers – and would have executed him.

Come to think of it, sounds good….

I read this article when it was first written.

At that time the mainstream was blowing it off as non-important but time has now passed by. It is more relevant, now than then , as the appointments and czars are put into office.

What IF it had been Timothy McVeigh is still a relevant question!
