Obama The Hawk?
Conservative Punk thinks so....
Sez ConPunk:
Fri Nov 21, 2008 - Is Obama turning into a hawk? Hillary voted for the war in Iraq…she’s in line for Secretary of State. Gates to remain at Defense. Looks like the doves got thrown under the bus.
One wonders… and hopes.

I believe that Obama is a foolish man - articulate, but tending to vastly over-estimate his own talents and value, not realizing that people have just been using him his whole life - and that his new Clintonista advisors will be controlling him, headed by Rahm Emanuel and Hillary. They may be hawks. They’re certainly hawks about their own prestige and power, and lefties view Emanuel as a partisan for Israel. Long story short, the Clintonistas who seem to be taking control of Obama may be smart enough to work with Gates and Petraeus and manipulate Obama out of his former plans to throw away Iraq in a grand “peace” overture to the terrorists.

I don’t think President-elect Obama can be labeled a hawk or a dove. I think he is a realist who will deal individually with each issue or threat.
ILoveCapitalism is either smoking, snorting, shooting or drinking something bad or just naturally sounds silly.

I agree with ILC.
One has to ask WHY all of these individuals are drawn to Obama.
Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Resco (the list continues to grow) and others are drawn to his weakness of character and consistent bad choice of peers.
They see him as a voice to express their views and nothing more.
You only have to examine his cabinet choices to see he is not about change but rewards to those that pat him on the head and say “good boy”.
I don’t think BHO has had an original thought his entire life. He is a reflection of all those he has written about in his books.
Very discouraging.
God help us all.

I agree with Jack that Obama is going to treat each problem as it comes up. The only problem is that’s the same thing he did when campaigning, and now he isn’t living up to what he said then. Getting elected was a “problem” that required speedy withdrawal from Iraq, denying the surge worked, and saying the entire adventure was a distraction. Fine, but now that the election “problem” has been solved, the game changes to actually governing (or maybe getting re-elected) so the war “problem” requires a totally different solution. That makes him more of an opportunist than a leader, and that’s not comforting.

Jack Allen, I don’t accuse you of smoking, drinking or shooting. But it’s OK that you accused me of it; it confirms my low impression of your personal character. I never mind being confirmed as right about something.

#4: Jack Allen, the President-Elect, who you voted for, contends that he can deal with the Iranian threat by meeting with Ahmadinejad without preconditions. This is a man you’re calling a “realist”?!
YOU are the one who sounds silly. Probably due to something you smoked, snorted, shot or drank.

I, like, so totally agree with Jack Allen. Obama laid out a clear set of detailed plans for his administration which were backed by his extensive policy writings and remarkable tangible accomplishments as a community organizer, Illinois state senator and US Senator from Illinois. No voter was left wondering what change meant or the underlying principles that inform the audacity of hope.
Obama will hit the ground running, dodging facts, being flexible, looking back to place the blame and inspiring us to walk with him through the shadows of the valley of racist disapproval.
He is so all inclusive in his concern for the least among us that I expect him to drive me to drink. A free ride. Who would ov thunk it?

Exactly, Sean A, but that is supposed to be ‘down the memory hole’ in the New Age of ObamUnity. After all, during the debates, Obama said that he had never said it. That settles the matter, right? Because he’d never lie, right? We don’t need to check the video of him saying it, on Youtube. What’s Youtube? Fie on’t!
Back in the real world - If Obama had had his way, Iraq would already be in the hands of the terrorists - be they Iran, al Qaeda, or some combination. Obama has Bush to thank for saving America’s position in Iraq. He won’t, of course. ‘Victory’ is a word that has probably never passed Obama’s lips, in connection with Iraq; something he probably really doesn’t want.

Today’s schadenfreude “Ahhh…”: http://www.julescrittenden.com/2008/11/23/hard-times-for-lefty-peaceniks/
The Messiah’s spokesman denies he is turning hawkish, of course, saying:
I believe it. I’ll credit Obama with having *some* principles: the extreme-left ones he imbibed from the New Party and Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers all those years. Which means: the sudden sanity and rationality are emanating from someone else. The Clintonistas.
Obama is a politico’s dream: a President who over-estimates himself, thinking he’s strong when he’s really a weak-minded mascot. A political shark can carve out a little empire for herself, in such an Administration.
