So sorry livewire I missed your request in #6. Probably because when I see a post that includes “politically correct” in the title I basically move to the next one. Those words when used by a conservative quite often mean that what ever they are referring to was polite, respectful of differences and/or anything said/done by a liberal that they disagree with. But just for you I read this one and for the most part I totally agree with what Steyn said. I disagree with his calling Islam” the most explicit and well-funded source of “intolerance” in today’s world”, the amount of money that flows through “christian” family groups and conservative churches most likely equals that of radical Islam. And of the “choicer statements” the only one that hasn’t been spoken/printed by radical right Christians is the one calling Christianity a lie and if you just put Islam in instead you have a perfect match. Notice I said radical right – not all Christians. The only radical left Christians I know of are anarchists and are far from highly funded.

At this time radical Islam is a far bigger danger to freedom, I completely concede that. It may be too late for some European countries but North America needs to put it’s foot down now. And I also agree it won’t be the liberals spearheading that. If the those on the right who want something done don’t learn how to speak out against radical Islam without the false claims that it is the whole religion that is the threat, they will never get anywhere. It’s not politically correct, it’s just correct.

The only other objection I have is his use of the term fairies, not only does it have anti-gay overtones (which he does say is not what he means) it’s comes from a misunderstanding of fairies. Except for Disney and the Radical Fairies, the vast majority of myths and legends concerning fairies describe them as powerful, aggressive and at times hostile, the opposite of how Stein uses it. Spineless or an equivalent would work better.

10, Peter H., I would argue that no houses or worship should be vandalized or threatened, and while I would agree that anti-gay Muslims seem to get a free pass. The focus is on the Mormon church because they donated a few bucks for the passage of Prop. 8.

I love the fact that over 90% of African-Americans in CA voted AGAINST Prop 8, but you don’t see the GayLeftLib borg hassling them or threatening to burn their churches like they do the Mormons.

Also – what about the Jews and Muslims who voted against it? Are their houses of worship being threatened? If not, why?

I would like to add this to your statement: Europe has many countries like Holland, Sweden, Belgium, etc that allow gay marriage. Predictions are that sometime around 2025 the Muslim population will be more than half of the whole population in Europe. My question to Gay Patriot or any other Gay person reading this blog would be: After 2025 when the Muslims comprise over half of the population in Europe, what do you think the status of gay marriage will be at that time. I find this to be a very thought-provoking issue and I am not gay.

Of course, the answer is that Reverend Boisson shouldn’t have had his speech curtailed because of his views of same sex marriage. Simply criticizing his opinion is fair. But why anti-gay Muslims, even those who that say gays should die, get a free pass is beyond me. In the meantime, perhaps Boisson could use this in his defense.

When are the gays in this country going to realize that the left is not their friend? Today, Obama announces that the invocation will be by Evangelical Rick Warren. The wheels on the bus go round and round, and once again the gay supporters are thrown under the bus. (I personally have no problem with Warren, I respect his adherence to his beliefs). But like the Jews, who voted overwhelmingly for this man in spite of his history of a visciously anti-semetic pastor, and associates, they cling to him. To the HRC and all the other gay groups who supported this man, a question: How does it feel to realize you’ve been used?
