Senator Kennedy From New York?

Please don’t get me wrong.  I have always admired Caroline Kennedy.  Her Mom raised her right — good values, sensible manners and she carries herself with a quiet dignity that most people have long forgotten.   I don’t agree with Ms. Kennedy’s politics, but I like her and her life story.

That being said…. what on earth makes Caroline Kennedy any more qualified to be a United States Senator than Sarah Palin was for Vice President?  Palin had 16 years of elected public service going into this election; Caroline has none.  When did the US Congress become the House of Dynasties?

If crawling around the Oval Office on your hands and knees and playing underneath the President’s desk qualifies you for the Senate — let’s appoint Monica Lewinsky as the next Senator from New York.

  1. When did the U.S. Congress become the House of Dynasties?? Please, a little historical perspective. Both sides of the aisles have had their dynasties and it started off the bat. Fish, Taft, King, Harrison, Roosevelt, Bush, Adams, Clinton, Kennedy, Bayh, Salazar, Byrd, Boggs, Landon, Rutledge, and the list goes on and on . . .

  2. I’m gonna repost what I said earlier and dare any of the GayDemBorgs to refute me:

Does this Caroline Kennedy for Senate thing not prove, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that the Democrats are the party of elite privilege?

Has Caroline Kennedy ever run a business? No. Has she ever run for office? No. Has she confronted corruption in her own party? No Has she ever had to worry about keeping to a budget or confronting any of the challenges middle class Americans face? Heavens, no.

No, her sole qualification is her blood-connection to America’s elite political aristocracy. 232 years after the Declaration of Independence, we’re back to this: government by royalty.

Granted, she is fully qualified to do what a senate Democrat is expected to do; display constant, fawning obeisance to the Dear Leader. Any other Democrat appointed by Gov. Paterson would do the same. Picking Caroline Kennedy just demonstrates, once again, the contempt of the Democrat party toward ordinary, working Americans.

  3. VDH agrees:

Caroline Kennedy, who has never run for, or been elected to anything, is now assumed to be entitled to a N.Y. Senate seat (replacing Hillary Clinton whose election was energized in turn by her marriage to Bill); Jackson, Inc. in Chicago bids for a Senate appointment seat, Blago assumes the governorship on the basis of a political career based on familial networks in Illinois. And on and on. I suppose the Senate will soon look like the imperial Roman version where a few great families and clans passed on ceremonial seats from generation to generation.

  4. The Socialist Country Club Democrats who are the core of the forming politburo of the Unites Socialist States of America know that the politburo must be kept to a manageable number or like minded commissars. They foresee the Congress as being limited to 535 party members, but the politburo must be a more workable number. Furthermore, membership in the politburo is entirely a function of the leadership, not an “elected” position. The Kennedy seat, the Biden seat (temporary), the Clinton seat, the Chicago machine seat, the two California seats, the New Jersey seat, the New York seat, etc. are already in place. Minorities and working class stiffs do not have seats in the politburo. This is a no nonsense oligarchy.

  5. Minorities and working class stiffs do not have seats in the politburo.

But if they recite the proper platitudes of grievance and offer obeisance to the ruling politburo, they may be granted a place at the table by the gilded elite.

  6. Minorities may be granted a seat at the table, that is. If a working class white person attempts to crash the party, they’ll be quickly and harshly reminded of their place when their families and personal lives are attacked by the elite’s MSM guard dogs.

  7. Has anyone noticed that “Schlossberg” (sp?) has quietly disappeared?

  8. I just checked with the man behind the politburo curtain and he wants the minorities and working stiffs to keep reaching for something that is beyond their grasp. Besides, they make members of the politburo uncomfortable. For now, they will have to force their way in ala Obama.

I call antisemitism on that one!! Having the lovely lifestyle of a socialite because of your unknown Jewis-lawyer husband just doesn’t hold a candle to the fabled name Kennedy.

Meanwhile I’ll take hard working Sarah Palin any day, pity, had she married one of those many useless Kennedy’s instead of that hunk she got in Todd, she may have stood a chance.

oh SNAP! your quite logical assessment of the situation deserves much praise.

  11. Who represents the Democrat party? Caroline Kennedy — An elite debutante born into a privileged dynasty.

Who represents the Republican party? Joe the Plumber — A blue collar working man who was hassled by state bureaucrats.

Could there *be* any better symbolism?

  12. Carloine Schlossberg the next Senator from NY. Geez it seems the most upset are the working polititians of the state of NY. Who have been trying to be public servants year after year. It has now come out that Caroline Schlossberg has rarely voted since 1988. Her claim to being qualified is…….she helped with the Obama campaign the past 6 months. Humm it seems working on the Obama campaign gets you almost any job except maybe Pope or Saint. We can start to regard the Senate soon as the House of Lords.

  13. One of my ancestors signed the Declaration Of Independance. Can I have a Senate seat? I hear there’s one in Ohio Sen Voinivitch isn’t using…

  14. Senator Select Caroline Kennedy had lunch with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s in Harlem yesterday. What better evidence that she is “of the people” do you bigots need?

She has looked Governor Patterson in the eye met Governor Patterson face to face and asked him not to make the mistake of not appointing her to please consider her. What more do you rabble want from a living legend?

This woman has the mortar of Camelot cemented in her brain Kennedy service to country gene. She will do a turn in the Senate and then accept the Presidential Coronation. Meanwhile, the simple folk are making simple talk with their utterly simple minds. Grow Up! You people shouldn’t be permitted to stand when she is on television, let alone discuss her place at the head of the universe.

I am disgusted with the lot of you.

  15. Another one of Ms. Kennedy’s “qualifications” is she is a busy Mom…so of course she didn’t have time to vote….you are only “disqualified” to be Vice President or President if you are a busy Mom with five children, one of whom is a special needs child, held elected office, run a business with her husband, are conservative, pro life, have common sense values and wait are named Sarah Palin.

didn’t you get the MSM memo yet? I mean come on get with the Program..the Leftist One that is.

  16. This can be easily solved; just give Ted Kennedy two votes. That’s really all Caroline Kennedy is; just a puppet.

  17. I thought we fought a Revolutionary War against having any kind of dynastic oppression. Can’t the Kennedys (and Clintons) just GO AWAY?

  18. Hey #12…. ME TOO!

Actually two Carrolls signed our Declaration (if I recall correctly).

Shouldn’t I be entitled to TWO US Senate Seats under the Kennedy Clause of our current government?

  19. “That being said…. what on earth makes Caroline Kennedy any more qualified to be a United States Senator than Sarah Palin was for Vice President? ”

She’s a Kennedy, that is all that matters, you wretched commoner! Now, removest thou from her royal presence or her family will see to it that you are flogged!
