Unfortunately there are few workable options;

1. As suggested, let Israel and Fatah crush Hamas….unlikely or,
2. Reconsider the “Roadmap” instead as a Three-State Solution.

Today, it may make more pragmatic-sense to partition Gaza and the West Back as two separate sovereign states. Let Fatah have the West Bank as “Palestine” …and accept the Hamas-ruled (or even Fatah-ruled) Gaza Strip as “Gaza”. Historically and culturally they are disparate territories, and it eliminates the risk to Israelis created by the need for safe passage corridor between them. East and West Pakistan could not remain manage as one nation for long; and the existence of East Prussia always endangered Poland.

Mmm, I’m not quite so sure, Leah. I agree with you that Fatah would love nothing more than to see Hamas gone, but it’s my opinion that Fatah finally “gets it” relative to the fact that Israel is going to exist whether they like it or not; they can either keep fighting a futile battle, or they can take what they have and make the best of it.

On the other hand, if Obama and the Democrats sell out Israel to appease the progressive core of the Democrat Party (think the Queers for Palestine groups and others), which I think is a very real possibility, Fatah will be in the perfect position to continue the Jew-killing with the support of global liberals and leftists.

Fatah would like Israel to clear up the Hamas problem for them. But as soon as the do, Fatah will fill in the void of Jew Killing.
There will be no love lost for Israel – even when they do the right thing.
