Absolutely, but the majority of the “examples” of conditional love for this country by liberals that I have seen on conservative blogs were pure conjecture. Fact is, unless someone actually acts against this country (which is not the same as acting in ways that “conservatives” disagree with) you have no clue what they feel. It is not just the exalted conservatives who can speak against things that are being done by the US gov’t or against policies of the current or past administrations while still loving the country and it’s people.

If you bother to look, you’ll find that we enjoy honest debate. The reality is that we rarely get it from liberals. Maybe if we actually had honest debate from the left…..

Yup, to the second part. It was November 1940 and Europe was at war. The U.S. wanted to stay out. People had doubts about whether Roosevelt would keep us out. Ol’ Joe Kennedy, Ambassador to the Court of St. James and crypto-Nazi-sympathizer, came home and agreed to give a speech endorsing Roosevelt and telling people he would keep us out, in exchange for Roosevelt supporting the political future of Joe Jr. (later to be killed in WW2). Some, like the Kennedys, believe his speech secured Roosevelt’s re-election. Thirteen months later, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and the U.S. was at war… in Europe.

Of course it was right to fight Hitler; I’m just giving the facts. Roosevelt was elected in 1940 on a promise to stay out of Europe… just like he was elected in 1932 on a promise to balance the federal budget. The man was, politically, a liar.

I think that’s a huge issue for the left, though they won’t admit it. (Except for that one troll we had one year who insisted Trig Palin was “a waste of resources.”
