"... when Republicans play the same hardball politics the Democrats play, it’s called, “obstruction,” but when Democrats do the same thing, the actions are, by definition, noble, just and right."

Yup, that's the rule. One of many corollarys to that rule; "Bi-partisan" means to do whatever Democrats want done.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this one - you're raising several good questions:

1. Must the media (and the Democratic party) only see Republicans as a problem? Do they depend on having someone to criticize?

2. If they depend on having a "bad guy" at all times, is it possible for this to backfire?

3. If the media articulated a "good" they wanted - say, more socialism or something - and focused on that and had positive coverage, would that be any better? It doesn't look like it given the swooning Messiah coverage, and it is true this sort of media/populist convergence happens all the time in Europe, but it could be argued in America this is exceptional.

IMHO: "Pedaled" is fine, we know what you mean.

In my humble opinion, Keith Olberfrau is constantly giving the Pro-Choice crowd a reason to exist.

This isn't going to change.

The post-McGovern Democrats are hard-care leftists. There only morality is to do whatever it takes to win.

(Besides, as the only intelligent and just people on Earth they shouldn't have to abide by the same standards they hold the Republicans to.)

If the anti-left doesn't wake up and realize that expecting fair play from the left is a pipe dream, they're surrendering.
