Yes, and I believe the last time the Republicans united under a Democrat as president, they succeeded in shutting down the federal government. As I recall, the public was none to amused about that little tactic.

But wait...oh yes, that's right....Republicans aren't currently the majority party in either chamber. At least Obama was professional and gracious enough to meet and talk with Republicans (and he will clearly continue to do so). That's a big change from the "screw you" attitude Republicans gave the Democrats when the tables were turned.

I don't know how liberals continue to comment on this blog, they are truly out witted by you guys (aka AE,GP,GPW,VtheK,Mr.Hughes & more).

I do hope the liberals (in this blog) regroup with something to defend "THAT ONE's" spend & tax policy.

Now that THAT ONE's "CHANGE" is coming to light, I only wish we could see the "HOPE" for the generations ahead that survive their gestation period.

I do try to get others to at least read this blog. You all do a service greater than you may realize, thanks!

Now Gene,

Was the window thing funny? Oh yes. Does it show him a moron? No, no more that President Bush trying to open the locked door did. Did it show the double standard in the press? Of course. "We're the press, of course we're honest! We're so honest we have double the standards of the American People!"

Now the "I turned up the heat after telling everryone we shouldn't" and the "Lets celebrate by buying $100 a pound steak" That's a sign of being 'above the little guy'

Now the democrats want to help the little guy

The problem with that is that y'all SUCK (sweaty donkey balls) at it. From public schools to the never ending "War on Poverty", to inner city a-holes like Detroit & New Orleans, I could go on and on with examples of how liberals who "want to help the little guy" historically have made things much worse.

Not to mention the fact that it was the liberal desire "to help the little guy" that contributed to the housing kerfuffle.
Besides, nobody here buys the bullshit line that you actually "want to help the little guy". You want them crushed under your heal in grinding poverty, be thankful for it and vot democrat.

How could anybody, with the common sense God gave the earthworm, believe that little statement? What have liberals done that actually helped anybody except themselves?

(like some who makes so little they don’t pay taxes) and the republicans turn that down after causing the problems in the first and you laud them??

Millions of lower income families were removed from the tax rolls due to Bush's tax cuts "for the rich". You assholes have bitched, in a round-about way, for the last 8 years that they should be added right back on. Not to mention the incessant whining that we should all "sacrifice". What happened to that grand idea?

how would you respond to a guy if he told you, “I want to help you, a “little guy,” by giving you money that I stole from your kids.”
But its worse than that. What dems are really saying is "I want to 'help' you by making you financially dependent on me with money I stole from your kids."

Torrentprime and Erik are actually arguing that a spending bill that spends 400,000 dollars for every job "created" or "saved" is a good deal?

[...] Gay Patriot: Let’s hope that the Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell can hold his caucus together to filibuster the stimulus. The longer it takes Democrats to pass the “stimulus,” the more time people will have to see that it contains billions of dollars for to Democratic constituencies and interest groups. They’ll ask their representatives whey we are increasing government spending when the federal government is running record deficits. [...]

Another Obama lie. Today I heard there are 12 former lobbyists awaiting confirmation for jobs big and small in the BHO administration. Remember how he railed against lobbyists during the campaign? Democrat lobbyists are ok apparently to the chosen one. What a crock of crap. This is the great uniter everyone was waiting for. Crooks, liars and creeps.

I've always loved this blog because no matter how ignorant leftists who visit, the regulars and GP try to educate since our public schools are so incompetent. Trouble is they have to be willing to smarten up. FDR's misery numbers were horrific.
Did you see where my President today tried to walk thru one of the White House windows? What a moron.

Torrentprime and Erik have one guiding principle: everything that Republicans do is wrong, and everything that the Obama Party does is right.

And they're honest, in the sense that they never waver from that belief and that all their posts are in line with that. Whether or not you can call that in any way intellectual is another matter entirely.

SO torrentprime admits that Republicans were fiscally irresponsible. Does he also admit the demonstrable truth that Democrats objected to EVERY bill the Republicans passed by proposing spending billions MORE, and faulting Republicans for not spending enough? Is that also fiscal irresponsibility? And now that Democrats have voted overwhelmingly to pass the greatest spending increase in American history, far more than Republicans ever increased spending, borrowing every dime and paying for none of it, lets hear you decry that as fiscal irresponsibility....

In short, do you have an intellectually honest bone in your body?

Yes Erik, FDR was a failure. He put the "great" in great depression. His policies not only didn't end the depression, they prolonged it for a decade long after the rest of the world had recovered from it.

Unemployment remained at double digit levels throughout his entire administration. He was popular because he stole from the rich and gave to the poor. As they say, when you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can count on the support of Paul.

He was re-elected because the country was united behind him in the war.

This also happens to be exactly the reason Democrats who overwhelmingly voted to support the Iraq war based on their own assessment of the intelligence turned 180 degrees and tried to pretend they only voted for the war because they were lied to (as if it wouldnt be GROSS negligence to vote on matters of life and death because someone else told them to) -- because they were desperately afraid that a success in Iraq would mean Republican dominance for years.

Um, Martin, do you know what "finally" means?

We here at this blog have constantly faulted the GOP for not staying true to its fiscal conservative roots.

Helping the little guy? Hardly? This puts the burden on the "little guys" of the future by paying money to those who tax bills were reduced to nothing by a Republican president and Congress.

And most of the so-called "stimulus" doesn't go to little guys, but to liberal interest groups. Follow the links in the post above and see for yourself.

Well, torrent, maybe the Republicans learned why they lost our majority. So, now that the Democrats are doing what the Republicans did, but at a much faster pace, all you can do is bash the GOP?

Your party's in charge now. Hold them accountable. And check the archives of this blog, going back at least to early 2006, we've been giving our party heat for its profligacy. Will you do the same?

Let me understand this. You write that the republicans are finally again the party of fiscal discipline because they voted against the stimulus package? So, for eight years, the republicans have spent, overspent, and way overspent; they allowed Wall Street to self destruct causing economic woes for the little guy. Now the democrats want to help the little guy (like some who makes so little they don't pay taxes) and the republicans turn that down after causing the problems in the first and you laud them??

"the Republican Party has once again (finally!) become the party of fiscal discipline"
And it all took was not being in charge and having no power. Snort. You believe what you're saying? How are you exercising discipline when you have no power to affect the outcome?

Actually having the majority and the White House and being able to, you know, spend the American people's money didn't show them to be all that (ok, at all) fiscally disciplined. But the moment they can't actually affect a cent of money - well, then, they are just rocks of tight-fisted accountability.

You really are buying this, aren't you GPW?

Thank the Lord, the GOP got some testicles!!!

In it's obvious effort to get votes, the Dems are willing to spend our children's future to maintain power. Fortunatly, I'll be long dead before I get to see what they have wrought.
At least with no conservative votes, they can own this pile of crap.
This is the last gasp of demcracy.
