Hey, Ohionut, what is the anti-choice in the Republican platform you are talking about? We believe in school choice. We believe in free enterprise. We believe human life is worth protecting and being allowed to live, even though Nancy Pelosi favors killing babies because they may be a drain on the economy. We believe in an all volunteer military where people take the greater risk of being killed rather than yanking the unwilling from off the street through a draft system. We believe in keeping our hands off people’s bodies by not banning salt, sugar, fast food, carbs, and other choices free people make. We are not in favor of silencing political speech. We are not on a rampage against people of religious belief. We are not favoring a policy of redistributing wealth by way of holding the government gun to a person’s head.

Oh, and Ohionut, show me the plan for taxing people into prosperity. Certainly you have a viable model tucked away in your certain mind.

A real patriot would be fighting for equality in his own country first.

Oddly enough, I already have the same legal protection against discrimination in the workplace as do straight people, the same penalty being applied to crimes against me as would be applied to crimes against straight people, and the same limitations on marriage as do straight people.

Perhaps Lessbean’s problem is that it considers it unequal to have the same, and equal to have special protections that allow it to carry out its sexual affairs in the workplace, have higher penalties assessed against people who carry out crimes against it, and the right to marry whatever it wants to have sex with without limitations that is denied to straight people.

Its becoming very clear Obama, despite all his rhetoric is an insecure, petty, hyper-partisan SOB. He still refuses to give credit to the Bush administration for the success of the surge. Ronald Reagan, to whom Obama compared himself (what great historical figure has Obama NOT compared himself to?) once said its amazing what you can achieve if you don’t care who gets the credit. Obama, ever the anti-Reagan, is constantly taking credit for things he had nothing to do with. (he claimed to be on committees he was never on, he popped in for photo ops at signing ceremonies for legislation he had nothing to do with, he’s already claimed iraq turned around because of his opposition, etc…)

I almost expect that he and his hacks are working on some sort of propaganda campaign to make him the man who turned Iraq into a victory.

So, really? Who’s looking good for 2012? Can we start the campaign yet?

Back in the mid-90′s the Dems disingenously caterwauled about “cuts” and other dastardly things the Reps were doing to Medicare. Of course, they were referring to proposals to slow the rate of increase of the Medicare budget. We can disagree with the policy choices, but we need to stick to good arguments.
