So says Ed Morrissey to Obama groupies who call Republican opposition to the president’s policies “a political war.” He references a particular criticism from an individual who, sometime after February 24, 2004 used any pretext imaginable to demonize George W. Bush.
It’s as if they can’t accept that some people might have legitimate objections, based on our economic philosophy and political principles, to oppose the president’s policies. Heck, back when Bush was president, opposition to the president’s policies was deemed patriotic.
And not to mention that some of the very people now criticizing Obama and congressional Democrats on their spendthrift “stimulus,” had also criticized Bush and congressional Republicans on similar grounds, not holding the line on federal spending.
How ironic it is that some of the very individuals who call criticism of Obama “war” would label any action of his Republican predecessor an abomination.
Was it not a prominent member of Chairman 0’s administration who said, “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say, ‘We are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration!'”
V, I think that she SHRIEKED it, not said it. 😉

Yeah, I’d agree with Peter about the word “shreiked.” 😀
They can call it “war” with conservatives but don’t want to call it “war” with the terrorists.
How do we let 0 & crew hold the reigns of power? Oh yes, “hope & change”… how could I forget that mantra.
#4 – Welcome back, Ed! Long time no see!

Why Thank you Mr. Hughes… I am primarily a reader. I absolutely love the way you guys on the right totally obliterate those on the left in this blog. American Elephant, VtheK, you, Michigan Matt, and of course the blog meisters (and others) are just great.
I sure hope that those who supported Obozo open their eyes to “THAT ONE’S” policy vs. campaign promises. However, you know the zombies don’t pay attention and they forget very easily.
Keep up the good work, you all do a service greater than you may realize. I spread the word about this blog when out & about. Where they have the internet here in Florida, I leave the site up on an open monitor.
Liberals aren’t too keen on consistency.
Yes, damn right it is a political war! Too bad that the Republicans nominated Sen. John “F— You” McCain last time around. He wanted every body to just get along. No, I do not and will not go along and get along. I care too damn much for my nation to sit back and let these socialists ruin it from within. And my disagreements with President Obama, et al is with their POLICIES, nothing more. I think I heard this around the 1992 election. It is actually nessecary every now and then to elect Democrats because it is the only way that one sees how bad things can be before they come to their senses. And, we here on the right side are always willing to help bring those along who do not support the president and or his policies. DISSENT IS PATRIOTIC!
I am with you Mark & I hope the grass roots effort to expose the marxists stays lit.
I wish that we (the American people) had voted with a brain instead of hope. If we had, we’d have President Mitt Romney and a track record of success with all that he touched. He was the best fit for such a rough economy and a nation at real war with radical islam.
That is exactly why I voted for him and worked for his campaign here in Florida. How did we get strapped with John McCain?
I know that here in Florida there were many democRats who changed their party affiliation to Republican to affect the outcome of our nomination. The d’Rats already knew their votes weren’t going to count here in Florida anyway. I personally heard this from some of my friends & ex-friends. Expect this again as in 2012, they have their nominee already, THAT ONE, and they’ll cross over to make their selection for the GOP. After all, in their war with conservatives, all is fair to them.
