JG, a lot of conservatives and Republicans (two groups which overlap, but are by no means identical!) thought last year’s bailout was a terrible, terrible idea. And even those who thought that it was not great, but the best solution available at the time, worried about the precedent it would set. (Their worries were justified, I would say…)

Off the top of my head, Don Surber and Ace of Spades HQ both had posts critical of the bailout, and if I recall correctly, there were some knock-down-drag-out fights over it in the comments at Hot Air, too.

The crowd as as ethnically diverse as the region and its politics ran the gamut from socially liberal Republican fiscal hawks to social conservatives to disciples of renegade Republicant Ron Paul.

Question since you have some great people with signs about repealing the bailout: do those folks (who all seem to be conservative in some fashion, although representing a broad spectrum of conservatism) not realize that the bailout was a creature of the GOP (Bush & Paulson)? The Stimulus is a Dem/lib thing, but the bailout was not. I’m not trying to bait, I’m honestly trying to understand the gradations of objection: anti-stimulus, anti-bailout, anti-both of them, etc.
