If you haven’t seen former President George HW Bush react to the former First Lady’s heart surgery, get the tissues ready:
(forward to about 1:22 if you don’t care to hear the medical details from the surgeon)
So in love is he that he even forgot he’d been the president for a minute.
Prayers for Mrs. Bush and the entire family.

Get well, Bar!
The Methodist Hospital cardiac team in Houston is one of the best (if not THE best) when it comes to valvular repair. Mrs. Bush is in great hands.
Prayers already been said, George H.W. She’ll be just fine.
Regards,
Peter H.
I love Barbara Bush. May God bless her with a full and speedy recovery.
I’ll keep them both in our prayers.
I will bet you that she wore her pearls to the operation!
At the 1988 convention, she walked past a reporter who was sound asleep. It was during the early non-business hours and there was nothing going on. She was on her way to look over the stage. Seeing this guy with his press credentials taking a siesta was too much for her. She jotted a note and put it on his chest. The note said: “Hi. I stopped by to give you an exclusive interview, but I just didn’t want to disturb your rest. Barbara Bush.”
What a gal!
#5 – Helio, I worked the 1992 GOP convention here in Houston as a floor runner. Not only did I see the First Couple, but I gave Barbara a shout-out akin to “way to go, folks” and she rewarded me with point and a smile.
She is, as you point out, quite a gal. A true steel magnolia.
Regards,
Peter H.
A bit late on my part but I did and do wish her a speedy recovery. It would be great to see all the Bushes in a recovery celebration after her full recovery.
