Curiously, if you look at this chart, you see that Federal deficits were steadily declining from 2004-2007, then all of a sudden, they spiked in FY2008 and skyrocketed in FY2009.

Gosh, what could possibly have happened to the Congress in 2007 to account for such a sharp and sudden increase in the deficit. It’s almost like a fiscally irresponsible party took over Congress in 2007 and began spending like maniacs… but that couldn’t possibly have happened, could it?

Tax cheats, bribery, pay for play, land deals, etc… has there EVER been an administration so steeped in corruption so early in their tenure?

Then again, proving things and providing links isn’t your strong point.

Pelosi has abused the system in place to accommodate congressional leaders and treated the Air Force as Her “personal airline.”

As TGC pointed out, we didnt get into this mess two and a half years ago when Republicans were in control of congress. In fact, when Republicans gave up control the economy was still growing at over 3 percent. It wasnt until Democrats had been in control for a full year that the recession started and it wasn’t until they had been in contol for almost two years that the economic crisis hit. And the banking crisis could have all been avoided if Democrats hadn’t been filibustering Bush and Republicans attempts at reforming Fannie and Freddy for 6 years.

And since you support them unswervingly, it can be said to be your fault as well.

Who’s budget of 2002 called Fan/Fred a “potential problem” which “could cause strong repercussions in financial markets”?

Which president, in 2003, pushed congress to set up a new agency to oversee and regulate Fan/Fred?

“We need a strong, world class, regulatory agency to oversee the prudential operations of the GSEs and the safety and the soundness of their financial activities.” – Treasury Secretary John Snow Sept. 10, 2003.

To which the libs replied:

“Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not in a cirsis.” – Rep. Barney Frank

And who was it that said that the federal government should do more to encourage to get low income families into homes?

And which party is bailing out people who lied on their mortgage applications while people who didn’t get the shaft?

BTW, Michigan-Matt partner, four good friends and I saw Watchmen. We had the benefit of dinner before the flick and one of the couples are big Moore fans; their insight helped a lot. But Watchmen virgins can profit from the experience.
