Rather, some spokesperson needs to make a regular appearance on TV and/or the web, demonstrate the failings of liberalism point by point and then show rational, conservative options and how they’re better.

Therefore, laughter and the lack of reaction from Obama’s remarks suggest Americans have a set a rules for race, class and gender: If you touch them you will pay.

And another set of rules for individuals that have a mental or physical disability: If you touch them, it’s ok if you apologize. Oh, and by the way, it’s okay to laugh at the jokes that come at the expense of the latter.

It is just cruel.

Instead of coming out and telling us he won’t accept a resignation from Geithner, maybe we can finally hear about a real program to deal with the credit issue??
And please, go no where without your telepromter, stay away from late night TV, how about just staying put in the oval office and actually getting some work done? Like maybe not just relying on Geithner but getting some more key people into position at Treasury???

And yet, the Democrats have a far better bead on the pulse of society than do Republicans. We go on and on about principles, but we have such difficulty translating them into a language that is understood by such audiences who, thanks largely to Democrats, are increasingly politically aware and active. It’s tough to criticize a successful strategy, even if it does involve a hollow, cynical, shallow appeal whose strategy likely involved a phone call from the White House and an openly liberal host who gladly made every accommodation.
