King Barack Laughs Off The Economic Woes of America
See for yourself how the Smugness-In-Chief performed on 60 Minutes.
Gross. I’m guessing Michelle is growing arugula in her new White House lawn garden. Two peas in a pod.
Let us eat cake!

Wasn’t that the point of doing Leno? Isn’t that the point of parties at the WH?
Is there any indication that he’s a man of the proletariat?

‘We’ve got a lot on our plate…” And yet he keeps piling more on, giggling like an impish schoolboy caught being bad but knowing he’ll face no consequences. Smug fuck.

It just goes along with putting green dye in the fountain, having a montrous playset right outside the Oval office and the kitchen garden on the South Lawn.
NO CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!
iInstead of all of this performing, O needs to go to the Oval Office and perform as President

#3: Get acquainted with the following:
A. The “Shift” button.
B. Facts.
The fact that he can laugh at this? I want what he’s smokin’.
Comment by Attmay — March 23, 2009 @ 6:54 pm - March 23, 2009
I guess the next time you see someone losing a house to foreclosure, or being laid off, you should point and laugh at them. Then explain that gallows humor is a coping mechanism that helps you get through the day.

You mean the same economic problems that six months ago Republicans were telling us didn’t exist?

You mean the same economic problems that six months ago Republicans were telling us didn’t exist?
My suggestion, Houdentenor; don’t go there, because “The fundamentals of our economy are sound” will be used as a prime example of how what Obama ridicules six months ago is what he’s claiming today.
Comment by North Dallas Thirty — March 23, 2009 @ 7:03 pm - March 23, 2009
*That* is gallows humor, as we are all the ones on the gallows.
I listened to Mark Steyn on the way to work this AM. Man, I love that guy. But I digress. He made the point I just said, that we’re the ones on the gallows… Obama is the one putting us there. “Gallows humor”, Obama’s lame excuse for himself, is humor by and for the condemned (us), not humor by and for the sheriff (Obama).
Comment by ILoveCapitalism — March 23, 2009 @ 7:14 pm - March 23, 2009
Now watch this putt!
Also, doesn’t gallows humor conjure up the image of Strange Fruit? It seems really creepy.
Comment by Ashpenaz — March 23, 2009 @ 7:53 pm - March 23, 2009
You mean the same economic problems that six months ago Republicans were telling us didn’t exist?
You mean, six months ago when dissent was patriotic, and criticizing the president was the duty of every American?
Comment by V the K — March 23, 2009 @ 7:57 pm - March 23, 2009
Geez that interview with the President of the United States is really bizarre. His giggling seems drug induced, no? In 5 or 6 states there is over 11% unemployment. The people are waiting for him to hire a few people so that when you call the Treasury Dept someone answers the phone. His budget is DOA, dead on arrival, so says his DEMOCRAT SENATORS!!
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/03/23/sen-bill-nelson-on-obama-budget-need-to-rework-this-whole-thing/
Is it too much to ask that the President work on some of these problems and quit traveling to Hollywood, playing basketball, appearing on ESPN doing his brackets and dissing the Special Olympics children?
We need this administration to be serious and address the problems, but this is a joke. It takes a member of his friendly press from CBS to ask the unflattering, disrespectful question, “Mr President are you punch drunk?” Because his giggling was so odd.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — March 23, 2009 @ 8:27 pm - March 23, 2009
Did you hear that the Obamateleprompter deficits over the next 10 years are a THIRD MORE than ALL the deficits run up in our ENTIRE HISTORY? And this guy is giggling. Pass around the prozak eh.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — March 23, 2009 @ 8:33 pm - March 23, 2009
I can hear the liberals now – “Well he has such a nice smile. And that laugh, OH that laugh…it just gives me chills of happiness. Thank God he laughs. His laugh will bring us hope and change.”
Had this been W. laughing like that about ANYTHING, he would be attacked in every way. The double standard continues to grow.
Comment by BC — March 23, 2009 @ 8:42 pm - March 23, 2009
Do you know the surgical HALO hardware worn by neck surgery patients after neck and head injuries?
Rahm Emmanual would be wise to have one fitted with surround teleprompters for Obama to wear whenever out of the house in public. That way whoever is feeding Obamateleprompter the words can also use “stage directions” informing the President…..APPOLOGIZE RIGHT AWAY FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS COMMENT!!
And DON’T GIGGLE SO MUCH WHEN DISCUSSING THE ECONOMY, THE BAILOUTS AND THE TRILLIONS OF BUCKS!!
Just a suggestion. I’m not sure many in the press would notice.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — March 23, 2009 @ 8:47 pm - March 23, 2009
Can’t blame the guy. He had the questions beforehand, his writer came up with the jokes for the answers and fed them into the teleprompter.

BC you’re exactly right. The drive by media would have found some unemployed, some children, some senior citizens bilked by Maydoff and had a town meeting. They’d discuss how out of touch the President was, to laugh and joke while troops are being shot at, families losing their homes, people starving etc. Double standard is an understatement.
Comment by Gene in Pennsylvania — March 23, 2009 @ 8:49 pm - March 23, 2009
#7 “same economic problems that existed six months ago”
As I recall, and please correct me if I am wrong, President Urkel damned Bush left and right for all that outrageous spending, and promised to review every item in the budget to eliminate waste.
Then he promptly turns around and creates the most outrageous deficits the nation has ever scene, and he hasn’t even gotten started. He’s still asking for more. And lets not get into “earmarks”. Remember those? Urkel told us he would stop them, but puts forth a budget containing over 9,000 earmarks.
You really should think about what you write before you make an idiot of yourself again.

I suppose you can defend this and explain how we’re overreacting? Maybe you can also explain how a president shouldn’t be held responsible for inciting angry mobs to harrass and threaten private citizens?
I look forward to your “explanations”.

I don’t think we’ve been very hard on the leftist supporters of Obamatelepromter. Yes we ask tough questions. Yes we wish the President would have gotten trained up on these challenges of office before now. And yes we jump on the many blunders, mistakes, errors and failures of this new administration. BUT we are for the most part reasonable, civil, non threatening, and rational. Where have all the Obamateleprompter voters and supporters gone? I’d like to engage them in the American debate on the state of our President and his administration. Where are Obamateleprompters defenders. It’s only around day 63….you can’t have abandoned Obamateleprompter so soon.

“Can’t blame the guy. He had the questions beforehand, his writer came up with the jokes for the answers and fed them into the teleprompter.”
WHAT jokes? The guy just started laughing maniacally out of nowhere – it was quite jarring. Due to his notorious lack of a sense of humor (the ability to either “get” or “make” jokes), it just doesn’t fit.
Comment by Anniee451 — March 24, 2009 @ 1:13 am - March 24, 2009
Humm…psychologically…Brother Barak hides his incredible nervousness behind inappropriate laughter when asked to comment about why the American people oppose his plans to “rescue” the economy. This man doesn’t have a clue and could care less about “government by people or for the people” while he is in the Oval Office. I thought the Left believed that Bush was a buffoon…it seems that Barak is neck and neck with for that title.

PatriotGoddess offers: “And yet he keeps piling more on, giggling like an impish schoolboy caught being bad but knowing he’ll face no consequences. Smug fuck.”
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw him –it’s like he’s in grade school and knows he can outcharm the nuns and they’ll forget about him and his demerits or infractions by recess. It’s amazing… 3 more years and then a lifetime with this guy after he’s tossed… because, like SlickWilly, this one isn’t going away after the act closes.

Now, that is a lot better a line than all the “SteveUrkel” references floating around conservative chatterland.
Eddie Haskell in a darker shade. Impishly smug fuck.
Comment by Michigan-Matt — March 24, 2009 @ 11:05 am - March 24, 2009
Hey, Michigan (the state, not the Matt) how do you think the snip of Obama giggling about putting money in the auto industry will play in the 2010 Congressional elections? The unions in particular will really eat up, no?
Comment by heliotrope — March 24, 2009 @ 11:24 am - March 24, 2009

This guy is a chameleon, period.

helio, the union leaders will forgive Obama anything he does as long as he delivers the SaveOurUnions “card check” reforms, extends to federal unionized employees the added bonus of having all election days as paid holidays, and delivers the reforms needed to make union health care agencies whole and prosperous.
For that, they’ll take the sting of their Leader laughing at a bailout that saved their jobs, their salaries, their hourly wages and benefits.
We are led to think that Wall Street fatcats are greedy SOBs… you ought to be in a union hall in Michigan when “contract concessions” are discussed… yeow, there’s raw, unfiltered greed and self-interest at its purest.
