How Much Trouble Is Obama In?

So much that the two US Airways flight attendants were discussing who the Republicans should run against him in 2012.

That’s trouble…

  2. I think it’s way too premature to speculate. There is always the possibility that despite Obumble’s breathtaking incompetence, the economy manages to right itself. There’s also only faint signs of intelligence emanating from the G-O-P. And then there’s the wild card; if the TOTUS gets amnesty for twelve million new ACORN voters, the Republican party can fold up its tent and go home.

  3. If the Republicans are doomed to go down in flames next time around, I really hope they nominate Ron Paul. Just because it would be so entertaining. Imagine the debates where RuPaul starts talking about “Fiat Currency” and Obumble asking what an I-t-a-l-i-a-n car has to do with monetary policy.

  4. OK, so now we know the filter doesn’t like the I-word either. So, no more discussions of I-t-a-l-i-a-n L-e-s-b-i-a-n C-h-r-i-s-t-i-a-n-s.

  5. #1 – Why don’t you start YOUR own blog so that way YOU can talk about things that are pertinent to YOU?

Or does that require too much initiative and/or imagination?

  7. Peter H, Maybe because starting a blog requires intellect, creativity, and a basic working knowledge of grammar and punctuation.

bob had his own blog, but the filter kept holding his posts so he left it, siting a conspiracy.

  16. I’m a Howard Stern fan. I listen to his show almost daily. His crew is almost totally liberals not surprisingly since his show is in NYC. This past week even Howard is saying Obamateleprompter needs to get to work and “stop the nonsense”. Meaning his Leno appearance, bowling, basketball, parties, etc. Stern says, like most people about to whisper a criticism of Obama, ” I like the guy. I want him to do well”. (which I think is the modern day equivelant of “some of my best friends are….) but he wants him to stop the nonsense.
An interesting moment on the Stern show occured when the three top stars, all multi millionaires complained about the AIG bonuses. And they argued that a company that was losing money shouldn’t be giving bonuses to “losers” and that they should give the money back. Last time I looked Sirius XM stock was 90 cents. I don’t think Stern, Quivers and Artie Lang are giving back any of THEIR money though. Typical liberals?

  17. There is always the possibility that despite Obumble’s breathtaking incompetence, the economy manages to right itself.

Only in the short to medium term.

I have been saying the economy will seem to get better at some point (2009 or 2010) and some think that is already happening. But it is impossible for any country with anti-capitalist, pro-incompetence policies and a national debt that it already can’t support to double its national debt in 4-8 years under 0-2% interest rates and not become the next Argentina.

I think it is very likely that by 2011-2012, Obama will be looking at a “misery index” of at least 15… probably 20. If I’m wrong, i.e. if his misery index is (say) 11 or less, then yeah, he gets re-elected… and, his misery index goes to 15, 20 or higher in his second term, with a massive opposition (I won’t say GOP) victory in 2016. It is *impossible* for Obama’s policies not to result in a doubling-or-more of the misery index – which Bush, remember, had consistently held down to 7 – sometime in the next 5-7 years.

  18. P.S. That’s assuming Obama isn’t a manifestation of a widespread, deep American death-with. If America has developed significantly more of a death-wish since the 1970s, so that Americans aren’t outraged by high misery indexes, Obama’s might shoot to 20 without affecting his political fortunes, eh?

He really does have some good points. It’s too bad he comes across as the crazy old uncle in the attic.

  22. Ron Paul is an anti-semitic isolationist, which means I will never support him.

    Comment by Attmay — March 26, 2009 @ 8:57 am - March 26, 2009

  23. In an ealier filtered comment, I mentioned that Ron Paul is hopelessly idnetified as the CrazyUncle all of us want to avoid at family functions.

He really needs to join the Libertarians, where he’d be viewed as mainstream over there.

For some to wish his nomination on the GOP is to expose their intent on the GOP’s political suicide and is sheer folly. Thank God the GOP will likely nominate Mitt Romney in 2012, just as many knew McCain had the insiders’ chance in 2008 if he played it loyal, Bush owuld have the chance in 2000 if he played it loyal in 1996, Dole had it 1996 given his loyal effort for Ford in 1976, Bush 41 had it for ’88 given his loyalty to RR, RR would have it in 80 if he played it loyal with Ford’s bid in 76, etc.

    Ron Paul? TeaParties for All!

  24. #11 bob stirs my curiosity. When “queen of england” appears with no caps, are we talking about the gay world in the UK? (Just trying to understand the nomenclature of the gay culture which some say does not exist.)

  33. #30 – You can spin all you want, boob, but the fact of the matter is that you still cannot offer any coherent independent thoughts outside the Daily Kos or HuffPo sphere of influence.

And if you do have your own blog, why aren’t you spending more time there instead of trolling over here? Sense of inadequacy, perhaps? Or maybe it’s penis envy.

  34. Ron Paul is useful for his strict adherence to The Constitution, and his abhorrence for the IRS. These and the promise to reverse the socilist expansion of government should take a Republican like MItt Romney or Mike Huckabee to victory.
