Moveon: Debt Only Bad when Incurred by Republicans

April 3, 2009 by GayPatriotWest

Recalling how “BACK IN 2004, MOVEON MADE A POLITICAL SPOT about how Bush was saddling our kids with too much debt,” I got to wondering why that organization is helping Bush’s successor lobby for his budget which saddles our kids with much more debt that W’s budgets did.

Dan, that’s because they’ve got Screaming Howie Dean on their side:

    Hypocrisy, thy name is liberalism.

    Democrats are good.

    Republicans are evil.

So when Bush does it outrage is feigned, and when Obama does it they defend what is good (a government controlled by democrats).

    Seems perfectly consistent to me.

I have friends in Fargo ND who are stunned by the recent flooding and the disaster there. It is unbelievable that our President is over in Europe attending fancy dinners while people are suffering like that. He is suppose to be OUR President, President of all the people, not just the blue states. His lack of concern is appalling. And just today another 650,000 souls join the unemployment lines during the Obamateleprompter depression. 8.5% UNEMPLOYMENT highest in 25 years…appalling. Where’s the yes we can, change we can believe in? I need some of our leftists friends to help me understand this, to bring some perspective to this. It’s not just the debt, the hypocrisy across the board is stunning.

I don’t usually follow Andrew Sullivan anymore, I just pick up bits of him in others’ comments… so I wonder what contortions he’s putting himself through, on Obama’s deficits. I believe that he considered Bush deficits to be “hollowing out the Republic” or some such. Now that Obama’s first deficit is four times higher than Bush’s last deficit, what has he been saying?

    Bruce.

It´s not the message, it´s the messenger. It has been thus since the left went radical.

    Gene in PA.

W was raked over the coals for his delayed response to Katrina. It´s time to light the coals for Obama. It´s not that he feels that he is President of the blue states only; remember, he is a citizen of the world and his mission is to subordinate our Constitution and our judicial system to that of United Nations.

It is unfortunate that people are suffering there. But really! Fargo, population 90,000, compared to New Orleans city – 480,000, metro – 1,300,000. Fargo, center of cultural, agricultural life of North Dakota. New Orleans, coming up on tricentennial in 10 years, melting pot of French, native, American and immigrant life, birthplace of Jazz, creole cuisine, economic powerhouse supporting all trade on the Mississippi river throughout the Mid-West, oil and gas business hub, etc.

Fargo – ordinary one hundred year river flood. 2 deaths from overexertion filling sand bags. New Orleans – never seen before catastrophic failure of complex 80 year old levy system allowing a lake to fill the city with water like a bathtub. 2000+ dead, uncounted injuries, 10s of thousands of refugees, at least $100 billion in losses.

Fargo – Obama in Europe at world economic summit during the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. New Orleans – Bush in CA having cake with McCain then off to another vacation.

Employment has been tanking since late 2007 and will not recover for at least 5 years if ever. Manufacturing is mostly gone. No more US cars. We ship trees to China instead of the Carolinas for furniture finishing. Our debt doubled under Bush to 10,000,000,000,000 for what. It will add another trillion a year until substantial recovery kicks in. Our civil infrastructure is shot to hell. 25% of our kids can’t manage to graduate from High School. And on and on….

We are already a third world country. Might as well get used to it.
