Partisan Gap In Hysteria

Glenn links this observation by Jehuda on The Rhetorican:

You know, for a political faction that is “irrelevant” and “out in the wilderness”, the Right seems to really get on the Left’s nerves.  It’s like the Left isn’t quite convinced that the current state of things will last very long.

Has this guy been reading our comments?

He’s definitely onto something.  Maybe it’s just in the nature of some leftists to resent their political adversaries, but they do seem quite insecure about their success.

Words to ponder.

  1. I kept wondering how Rush was irrelevant one day, leader of the Republican party the next, and then irrelevant the third day.

  2. The Left is insecure about their success because they know they’re wrong.

    - They know they’re spending America into ruin.
    - They know that, if deficits were a bad thing under Bush (and they were), their Dear Teleprompter has just quadrupled the deficit (and no, he didn’t “inherit” that).
    - They know bailouts are wrong, and that they (the Left) now own the bailouts.
    - They know government-run health care is a mistake and not “civilized” at all.
    - They know that punishing the competent to prop up the incompetent is not only a great mistake, but is un-American.
    - They know that cutting the missile shield when the world’s other Dear Leader (Kim Jong Il) is stepping up his missile tests is profoundly wrong.

They count on people not noticing the truth. They count on the rest of their fellow Americans to not speak the truth. They know, in other words, that sometime – be it 2 years or 4 or 8 – Americans must and will rise up and reject most of what the Left stands for.

  3. Zell Miller’s “National Party No More” is more relevant now than back when it was published a decade ago, barely 2.5 months into THAT ONE’s term.

Their over reaching into our pockets, broken campaign promises, tax cheating cabinet, blame game, incompetence, sniffing Saudi King farts and trashing America overseas will take it’s toll.

The beast is identified, freeze it and dismantle it.

Of course, should the beast regain it’s composure (which I doubt), he may win that 2nd term.

All I know is there is a drum beat a beatin and the patriotic American people will not stand for what is being done to The Constitution.

If the tax rebellions continue through April 15, 2010, the Dems will hear the piper pipin come the November elections.

I hope Mr. Obama learns one of those great European languages that he so eloquently slammed Americans about during the campaign. Maybe he’ll take up Austrian.

  5. The Left will eventually come to the realization that it is much easier to complain about problems than it is to solve them in reality. They have spent their efforts in be critical/hypothetical that they never got around to the reality of governance. Obama is the epitomy – talking, talking, talking and never solving. When he does, it is just because he believes something (anything) should be done.

  6. It’s just a manifestation of the entitlement mentality. The left thought that getting everything they wanted politically was going to make them happy. It didn’t, and now they’re looking for someone to blame. It never occurs to them to think that happiness, like love, isn’t something that just happens to you. You have to choose to be happy… and love, for that matter, is something two people choose to create, not something that just gets handed to you.

  8. TGC #4 – I think some rank-and-file lefties are ignorant enough not to know about these things, but how could the educated ones not know? They know, they’re loudly pretending otherwise, and they need our help to get away with the pretense. I don’t wish to help them.
