I just RSVPed to dine with the pundit I call Athena (Peggy Noonan) when she’ll be at the Reagan Library on May 21. Click here to learn more about the event. Maybe we can get a group of readers together to meet this great lady and pay tribute to her one-time boss.
Drop me a note if you’ll be joining us.
Can’t, but please ask her why she thinks it’s a good idea for Republicans to morph into spineless liberals.
#1 – I second that emotion.
Also ask her – hypothetically speaking – if Palin wins the 2012 GOP nomination, will she support her?
Not that I’m holding my breath or anything.
Regards,
Peter H.
Dan, nice that you’re supporting the Reagan Library by attending the dinner. I know you’re a big, big, almost drool-cup level fan of the Noonan, but I hope she doesn’t put the crowd to sleep. We had here for a political fundraiser a while ago and it was dismal… to a packed crowd no less. It led MMpartner to opine: Peggy’s got a voice & delivery made by God for speech WRITING.
It’s the cadence, that fake lock-jaw, uppercrust elocution and whine that makes hearing her message so difficult for so many. Of course, she’ll likely be in sea of Noonan worshippers… talking about da’Man and that’s gotta compute to a success… I hope you report back here on what she says.
