Does Paul Krugman Promote Islamic Terrorism?
Cornell University Law Professor William A. Jacobson contends that by Paul Krugman’s own logic in blaming “conservatives for the shooting at the Holocaust Museum” since they “have had the audacity to harshly criticize the Obama administration“, the New York Times columnist implies that his very rhetoric promotes terrorism:
While Krugman places the blame on conservatives for the museum [and Tiller] shooter[s], Krugman fails to consider the implications of his own logic. Since Krugman has been one of the harshest critics of the Bush policies (as continued by the Obama administration), then using his own logic Krugman himself is “winding up” the next Islamist terrorist attack. Or maybe Krugman wound up the last Islamist attack, just days before the museum shooting, when a convert to Islam upset over U.S. policies in Iraq and Afghanistan killed an Army recruiter.

Hmmm. . . so harsh criticism leads to terrorism? Guess that indicts a lot of left-wing blogs then. But, Krugman’s not going after them. Guess to lefties like Krugman, when conservatives engage in overheated rhetoric, it leads to violence, but when liberals do it, it’s part of the natural order of things and only leads to civilized discourse.

People like Krugman play loose with cause and effect.
If you want a real contrast on hate, terror, Islam and the Middle East; Today is the Gay Pride Parade in Tel Aviv, and also the Iranian election.
I’m still waiting for that Gay Pride Parade in Tehran or Gaza City.

Good point Geena,
In fact wouldn’t the very presence of the Gay Pride parade be considered harsh criticism of the Islamic world?

Krugman is a disgusting nut and a shill for statism.

Von Brunn was a frequent poster on the far-rightwing hate site “Free Republic”.
His hateful screed “Obama is Missing” is signed by him, IN HIS FULL NAME, James
W. von Brunn, on December 02, 2008
It is still up on that site… check it out before it’s removed.
His Free Republic nick was “wannabegeek”… read his other rightwing hate posts.
I don’t know why the MSM is not covering this.
Google “Obama is Missing”

Are you actually saying that criticizing Bush means you are supporting Islamic terrorism? The only way you can logically support the above argument is if you actually believe that Bush = America.
And I don’t think anyone here actually thinks that.
Whereas Krugman gave examples of hate spewed by the right to support his contention that indeed the right wing is devolving into a party of hate and needs to check its rhetoric. Even Shepard Smith admited as much when he discussed the sheer amount of hate filled vileness that gets sent to him everyday by conservatives.
Instead of using terrbile logic to try and turn around an argument, why don’t you look inward and see what you can change?

Just like you are a frequent poster at the far-rightwing hate site “GayPatriot”. He must have agreed with all the posters there and was not a mouth-breathing Ron Paul troll at all!!
Maybe because blanketly calling him “right wing” doesn’t quite jive with him being an anti-Israel (oops! excuse me… Zionist /giggle), pro-Palestinian, anti-Christian, anti-Bush, anti-neocon, 9/11 Truther. Kinda muddles the narrative.

Here is a compilation of von Brunn’s racist rants on the far rightwing hate site, “Free Republic”.
See for yourself the thoughts of a racist, murdering rightwinger before they “vanish”…

did you actually read the krugman editorial? because you mischaracterize his argument in a way that makes me think you didn’t. i don’t think “harsh criticism leads to terrorism” is a fair reading of his article.

lets’s not forget gillie’s said that gillie says there’s not much hate on the left.
Nice that gillie admits that wanting Obama to fail does not equal wanting the nation to fail. After all “The only way you can logically support the above argument is if you actually believe that Obama = America.”

Strange how you didn’t post a link to the actual article. Almost like the source material doesn’t support the “summary” you linked. Jacobson’s desperate attempt to minimize the right-wing hate towards Obama as “harsh criticism” falls apart when you read the actual quotes used by the right against Obama.
Voight: Obama is a “false prophet” and that “we and we alone are the right frame of mind to free this nation from this Obama oppression.” Senator McConnell said he “really enjoyed” those remarks.
Gaffney in the Washington Times claimed that Obama “not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself,” and that in any case he has “aligned himself” with the radical Muslim Brotherhood.
Glenn Beck warned of concentration camps being built by the Obama administration.
This is not rational criticism of the president’s policies. It’s hyperactive fear-mongering, and if you call preaching (and spreading!) fantasies and dark nightmares about a mythical demon who only exists in the minds of the right “harsh criticism,” you’re simply lying. Perhaps you should “read the whole thing” before you post, GPW.

So far as I can tell, he had one article cross posted onto FreeRepublic. Plus, wannabegeek’s comments don’t really match up with the rantings of Vonn Brunn. Perhaps if you had bothered to look instead of being a lying shill for the hate site ThinkPropaganda, you might have realised that.
At what point did he say they were from Conservatives????
Comment by ThatGayConservative — June 12, 2009 @ 4:35 pm - June 12, 2009
He actually debunked that story. Anybody who still maintains it as truth is a lying sack of shit.

So, von Brunn was a right-winger because he posted at freep? Does that mean gillie, boob, kevin, and toiletprime are all right-wingers too because they post on GayPatriot?
