Will there ever be a Gay Patriot get together in Denver? It’s a relatively short train ride for me.

Admittedly, time has passed me by, but when did martinis start having everything except gin and a hint of dry vermouth in them? When I read the martini menu it reminds me of all the things that taste like chicken but don’t have feathers and usually slither or are made from tofu.

Denver would be fun. I want to see the art museum. And I’m actually kind of friends with Archbishop Chaput–which might explain my Roman Catholic approach to things.

Yes, lets have a GP meeting in Denver. I will probably be able to make that one.

#3 – “Admittedly, time has passed me by, but when did martinis start having everything except gin and a hint of dry vermouth in them?”

After the Yuppies and Generation X-ers got a hold of them and realized that they wanted something other than what their parents drank.

For me, the quintissential martini must include a hint of dry vermouth, gin (in the summer) or vodka (in the winter), and the requisite olive stuffed with pimento.

However, since I am a bourbon drinker, make mine a manhattan – easy on the bitters, please.

    Regards,
    Peter H.
