The gay Left won’t attack the SCLC or any Black Christian group, but only for strategic reasons, not because the Left respects Christians. That’s in keeping with the Left’s nature; it’s all about POWER, not principle. Otherwise the Left, gay and straight, would be the fiercest opponent of radical Islam, perhaps the most homophobic force on the planet today. But the Left doesn’t oppose radical Islam because almost all radical Muslims have brown skin and in the Left’s narrative only white Christians can be bigots. It’s a dangerously false narrative to be sure, but it’s the only the Left has so don’t expect them to jettison it anytime soon.

(And I hope this comment isn’t showing twice. My laptop had a hiccup the first time I tried to leave a comment so I wrote it again. If this is a duplicate I apologize.)

I remain convinced that the gay liberal targeting of Mormons is a classic example of just how ludicrous their stereotypes of Christians are — inasmuch as they honestly thought Christians hate Mormons so much that Christians would help them, or at least stand back and say nothing, as they vandalized churches, mailed white powder, and tried to drive Mormons out of jobs and businesses.

Hey Racists,

All the african americans in California could have voted no and the measure still would have passed. Hence, the African American vote was 56% yes, only 4 points higher than the whole state.

Also, no group was as engaged in the strategy of this campaign more so than the mormons. If your interested in making arguments about one group versus the other you need compare apples to apples.

Regardless, I think we’ve all learned that the road to victory is not to attack but to educate. Sorry that doesn’t fit the bomb them to hell ethos of this site.

Excellent Point, Peter!!! The Gay Lobby wont dare attack the “golden cow” of the movement. Even though the “Blach Church” had a significant impact on Prop 8, even the Gay Lobby wont touch it. It can be concluded by default that the “Black Church” doesnt accept the Gay Lobby’s attempt to make Prop 8 a Civil Rights issue. There is trouble in Paradise.
