Obamacare = Stalinization of Health Care Industry … But Don’t Take Our Word For It
Again, I’m preaching to the choir, I know. Anybody who reads this blog regularly won’t be surprised to find that Barack Obama’s plan all along has been to Stalinize the entire health care industry, and he’s lying through his tobacco-stained teeth when he says it isn’t. Hell, even the lurkers and “little letter” people who swoop in to show their ignorance can’t really deny it. Well, they try sometimes, but now, thanks to Breitbart and an industrious YouTuber, we have the following montage:
It’s too bad I don’t have cable here at HQ. I’d love to see this on ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN. I’m sure they’re all running it at the top of the hour tonight, no?

And Powerline today shows us government health-care in action. Short version: In Britain, the NHS is denying cortisone shots to patients with back pain.

Barney Frank was caught on tape admitting the same thing as Obama over the weekend (there was a brief clip of this in the montage).

gillie: Maybe you’re trying to access the video from inside the White House, or perhaps from a news organization? I imagine they’ve got quite a filter in there, you know, to keep facts from getting in!
Frank’s comments are in the video as well, Scott, toward the end.

So Obama wants the elderly to take more pain killers instead of needed surgery. The trophy national health care system Obama is mimicking CUTS OFF cortisone shots! What, will they just hit the patients in the head with sledge hammers to eliminate pain and suffering.
Oh but the liberal Democrats say……”that’s Canada and the UK, ours will be better!”
Any boobs morons and dopes believe that?
I’m loving the Democrat Congresspeople getting hammered at town hall meetings over Obamacare! It’s uplifting and heartening. Stand up America!

The trophy national health care system
Obama is mimickingObama is not copying in any way in his legislation CUTS OFF cortisone shots!Fixed.
We’re not doing a single-payer system here, so every one of the cutesy “they kill people with a hangnail in France cause the Internets told me so” story is apples to oranges, everytime.
Back to the “proof” in your video…You all actually think this video says something “incriminating”, don’t you? Anyway:
I’ll have to find the full clip, since this video cuts Obama off mid-sentence, leaving (credulous) viewers to finish off whatever Obama envisions in 10, 20 years, but in the parts that weren’t clipped (I thought right-wing people hated edited video, after the “injustice” done to Palin?) all Obama said there would not be a level of coverage anytime soon that would lead to the lack of need for employer-based plans.
A) He never private insurance plans would be illegal.
B) And there is more private insurance out there than just employer-based coverage, people. Even if employer-based coverage wasn’t needed anymore, show me one part of this video that claims all private insurance will cease to exist or become illegal?
C) One of the things we’re trying to overcome is the link between one employer and and one health plan. It would be nice if you could keep your coverage when you changed jobs, right? That’s all Obama is talking about.
Basically, he’s talking about the need for employer-based coverage, not its legality or existence. (sigh)

I think that allowing companies to sell across state lines would solve the problem. I think making health care available to everyone is essential, but not at the cost of killing the unborn, the old, the fat, the stupid, or the ugly. Since Obama seems to be unable to include compassion in his plan, perhaps allowing the market to drive down prices with the competition which will come from removing borders will work just as well.

We’re not doing a single-payer system here
Oops, caught lying again, torrentprime. Looks like Barack Obama just can’t tell the truth, can he?
He also got House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to agree to allow a full House vote on the single-payer reform that more than 85 House Democrats have endorsed.
Congressman Anthony Weiner, D-New York, worked with Waxman to get the deal on single-payer and declared a sort of victory Friday, saying that: “Single-payer is a better plan and now it is on center stage. Americans have a clear choice. Their Member of Congress will have a simpler, less expensive and smarter bill to choose. I am thrilled that the Speaker is giving us that choice.”
Now why does your Barack Obama lie? Why do you lie, torrentprime, and tell us single-payer is not being done, WHEN IT IS CLEARLY STATED THAT IT IS?

torrent – there is no way private insurance would survive (even if Pelosi weren’t out demonizing insurers). With taxes and mandates, the government can suffocate private companies. Add to that the fact the government won’t need to make a profit and has an endless supply of money it can seize from taxpayers (or print should the taxpayers finally run out)… well, what other outcome is possible?
And Obama, Barney Frank, and others are on the record stating that single-payer is the goal. Were they lying then? Or are they lying now?
Aside from Mark Steyn’s point that gummint-healthcare would change the fundamental relationship between citizen and government, there is no government program that comes in on-budget and that works better than its private sector counterpart.
As I’ve said before, government can’t make healthcare less expensive, it can just quit paying for it.
Along with interstate sale of insurance (Ash in #10), let’s talk about tort reform, insurance mandates, tax treatment, illegal aliens, the idea that people should assume some responsibility for their own care, and about a hundred other things. There’s a lot to be gained here without handing over our very lives to the Leviathan.

Why is there no coordinated ad campaign against the campaign to socialize private health care? It’s not as if we didn’t know this was coming.
Comment by Ignatius — August 4, 2009 @ 10:05 am - August 4, 2009
1) If healthcare is free, how can private insurance companies compete?
2) If healthcare is free, why would an employer provide health coverage?
Can anyone who still believes what Obama says answer these two questions? How about you TP?
Comment by Lobogris — August 4, 2009 @ 10:20 am - August 4, 2009
Torrent doesn’t need to read no stinkin’ bill. There are at least three Obamas. He is listening to the one he most wants to hear.
However, I would ask torrent if he favors mandating that Congress be covered in the great health care fix the Obama he hears is proposing. And, if not, why?

Funny how liberals will excuse the words verbatim from Dear Teleprompter or other Obamunists (i.e. “he didn’t mean it that way”), but they will contort themselves to extremes to try and define a conservative’s innocent remarks as being racist/sexist/bigoted/homophobic (i.e. Trent Lott at Strom Thurmond’s birthday party).
Sort of like their interpretation of the Constitution. If it’s enumerated, it doesn’t mean what it says (2nd Amendment); but we can “interpret” something that isn’t even remotely written verbatim in it (9th Amendment).
