Senator Kay Hagan: AWOL

Welcome Instapundit Readers!!

PatriotPartner has been trying to call Sen. Kay Hagan’s office today to express outrage over the radical “green jobs czar”, Van Jones.

However, while most of us are still working today — it appears our Senator from North Carolina has vanished.  All of her phone numbers are going unanswered, and the voicemail is full.  That says to me: “I don’t want to hear from my constituents.”

Congress has been out for a month and the President has been on vaca for 2 weeks.  The rest of America (well, those of us who still have jobs) are working our asses off.

Can’t we expect the same (or better) of our elected officials.

Don’t believe me?  Call Senator Hagan’s offices and see for yourself:

SENATOR KAY HAGAN

DC OFFICE: 202-224-6342

GREENSBORO, NC OFFICE: 336-333-5311

RALEIGH, NC OFFICE: 919-856-4630

Can someone please find my Senator? I hope she isn’t in Argentina.

-Bruce (GayPatriot)

UPDATE (from Dan): Seems my Senator, Ma’am Barbara Boxer, is also on the missing persons list, though they do answer the phone at her LA office.

UPDATE (from JohnAGJ): My Senators in Virginia at least have been found. Jim Webb (D) refuses to hold town hall meetings, believing them to be unnecessary, while Mark Warner (D) seems to be trying to please everybody: giving Democrat talking points on the one hand, while claiming to oppose the House bill with the other.

  1. Its not like calling will do anygood. Even on healthcare reform she will only meet in small groups with people who already agree with her position.
I thought the Godless Americans incident in the campaign spoke volumes about her character. I wish more voters had seen things the same way. I could not care less about her meeting with them. It was her self-righteous indignation when called out on it that bothered me. She was not too repulsed to meet with them and take their money, just to be associated with them publicly.

  3. Eh. I’m hoping she took Bob Etheridge with her. NC would do much better without them.

They both are bought and paid for by the progressive/liberal/marxist coalition, so their opinions are already known.

  8. We should thank our lucky stars if they all disappear. Less of them, less damages done to us on behalf of us. I think we should double their pay if they promise to take permanent vacations.

  9. This is standard procedure for Kay – I have called her office repeatedly and her voice mail box is always full.

She is not missing, and sadly, she is not in South America. She is simply not willing to listen to her constituents. Her mind is made up, she is a democrat first and a responsive member of congress, well, I guess not at all. She will vote the way her superiors tell her to vote, NC citizens be damned.

Too bad we have to wait for 5 years to allow her to become our most recent one term senator.

  10. Yeah, it’s not a problem that she’s missing, it’s that she’s going to reappear.

  11. Get the FAX number of EACH OF HER OFFICES.

Send your complaints to her EVERY DAY.

Tell anyone you know to DO THE SAME.

Sooner or later, she might get the hint.

Citizens MUST TAKE BACK THEIR COUNTRY.

We ELECT Representatives to vote OUR views in CONGRESS. We don’t need the DNC or RNC to use OUR money to BUY votes.

Hold YOUR OWN Town Hall meetings. Don’t invite the incumbent, but invite their opposition.

Hold a citizen’s PERFORMANCE REVIEW of your elected officials. Don’t stop at Federal Level – include State and Local officials as well.

You get a performance appraisal at work – why not Congress, State and Local officials as well.

It’s time loudmouth LIBERAL activists are pushed off the stage. Let REAL CITIZENS speak for themselves.

Cancel all media subscriptions until 2010 election is
over. That will insure a more fair election.
It will help eliminate those who are hurting GDP growth and prosperity for the middle class.

  12. Hagan is my Senator too. I was one of the hundreds outside her Raleigh office last month. Any of you going to DC for the 9/12 event? Would be fun to meet up.

  13. Hopefully she isn’t in SC with Gov Sanford. Phone calls are paid more attention to than emails or letters. Keep trying -= squeaky wheels!!! I agree HOLD your own Town Meetings….

  14. Wow, who even knew that after Michael died, Kay married Tom Hagen?

  15. In the article the party affiliation of the good Senator should have been highlighted with lights around it. For the little people? Yeah Sure.

  16. Didn’t Kay Hagen run as someone who knew how to manage a budget? It seems all she’s done is spend money since she was elected.

If she’s going to disappear do you think she could take David Price with her?

    Comment by Another NC resident — September 4, 2009 @ 7:44 pm - September 4, 2009

  17. I live in NC so I’m stuck with Kay Hagan as well.

The best argument against government-run health care is Kay Hagan’s office. I wrote her office back in either late January or early February opposing the stimulus package. Late in August I received a letter from her dated August 3rd regarding her vote supporting the stimulus package.

Heck, I wish she were hanging out with Mark Sanford. Maybe she could learn something about holding down government spending.

  18. My suggestion: hold your own town hall meeting. Put a cardboard cutout of the senator in an empty chair on stage and address your comments to it. Post the video on YouTube.

  19. Another NC voter here. I’ve called her office many times – usually the VM’s full or it rings and rings and nobody picks up. The few time’s I’ve gotten through, either her staff is totally clueless about the most basic questions (“Do you know what the Senator’s stance is on Cap and Trade?” “No.”) or they’re condescending and rude. If it hadn’t been for teh unprecedented coattail effect last November, I doubt she’d have won.

I will be in DC next weekend and will be looking to join up with other NC folks. Let’s keep our eyes peeled for each other.

  20. Well, I heard a commercial for her on the radio today. Apparently she thinks that it is imperative that YOU hear her.

  21. I live in Charlotte, so I guess I am as qualified to say it as anyone else. Kay Hagan is an ass. Her entire campaign was bitter, and the recent commercials here in the area are literally asking listeners to call in and encourage her on the issue of support for Obama’s health care plan.

Among those senators who are worth anything at all (and I don’t think she is), who actually has to beg for people to encourage her? It’s pitiful, frankly.

  22. I have written called and tried to E-mail her.. I also think she is AWOL..She is an obama stoogie.. Anything to please obama. I can’t wait to VOTE her ” –” Out of office.. .. I was totaly shocked when she refused to hold Town Hall meetings.. I guess she is like the senator from New York ,who said it was beneath her dignity to hold Town hall meetings. We need to show THEM when it comes around again.

  23. Im not sure how we do it…but let’s get rid of all the politcicans and start over again with gov for the people and by the people. We have put the burdens of cooperate America on our back and do not have anything to show for it. We have bailed out the ones who got us into our recession and made sure they got bonus’s on the way out. I have written Senator Hagan and got a form letter back that they would be in touch.
America doesnt need a tea party….we need a HOUSE CLEANING!!!
Maybe she is on the Applachian Trail…..

  24. Today I started calling early to do my patrotic duty and try encourgaging Kay Hagan to vote against the Health care bill. I was asked by an answering system to put in a mailbox number. When I did not, because I did not have a number. I called back several times and finally got her voice mail, which was full. Later in the afternoon I reached one of her staffers who told me she had voted yes for the bill to move forward. I have called Ms Hagan many, many times and sent numberous emails, she has never returned anything to me. I did inform her staffer that after Bob Ethridge refused to listen to his constituents on a conference call last week and went ahead and voted yes, that he will be looking for another job when we vote. I told her Ms. Hagan may have rode into the Senate seat on the coat tail of Obama, but they will both be leaving in 2014, unless of course there is anyway possible to have them impeached. Kay Hagan will not listen to the people of North Carolina. She is a demonic, nonChristian person who could care less what we have to say. She, like Obama is interested in only two things. Power and money.
Hagan’s husband is a racist who was on the board of the Country Club in Charlotte and voted several times to keep black people off the membershil roster. Humm, wonder how that makes all the black people who voted a straight Democrat ticket out of spite, feel.
Good luck folks, and may God continue to bless America.
