Democrats Continue to Make a Martyr of Joe Wilson
If House Democrats go forward with their “Resolution of Disapproval” of the honest Joe Wilson, not only will they look petty, but they will cause this citizen of California to make a contribution to the South Carolina Republican’s campaign and have him encourage his blog readers to do the same.
Hey, Nancy, the guy apologized. The President accepted his apology. Isn’t it time to move on and focus on the issue at hand, you know, like the President said?
The Democrats intend to milk this for all it’s worth, to, in Jennifer Rubin’s words, “to paint the opposition to ObamaCare as unhinged—or, as the Democrats have described their fellow citizens, ’silly’ or ‘evil-mongers’ or ‘un-American.’“ (Rubin’s short post is well worth your time..) But, in the end, largely because Wilson apologized immediately after his outburst, it will likely backfire on the Democrats, strengthening the man (and the movement) they seek to destroy, much as Obiwan foretold:
Oh, and, let’s hope some intrepid reporter asks Speaker Pelosi why she won’t offer similar condemnation of her fellow Democrats for booing President Bush back in 2005.

I posted this before, but it fits:
Captain Sheridan’s apology. “It’s the thought that counts”.

Of course the Democrats are milking this for all they can. Precisely what the Republicans do whenever an unhinged Democrat gives them a similar gift. Thats the way the game is played. You are quite wrong, I suspect, that somehow the American people are going to turn on the Dems for censuring Wilson. The overwhelming majority of people aren’t going to care one way or the other. Of those who do, most will find it perfectly appropriate that the House condemn bad behavior. Most Americans are sick and tired of the childishness of the ranters, and of grown men and women who cannot control themselves. Wilson, Serena, Kanye – they all have acted like jackasses, and most people are glad to see them called on it.
I find it odd that you keep trying to argue that the apology to the President is sufficient. I would think you would take the opposite position – that Wilson should never apologize to the President (because you think he spoke accurately), but should apologize to the House for acting like a jackass on the House floor in a formal setting.

i find it odd that Tano pops up here to get spanked again and doesn’t reply to where he gets spanked.
When is President Obama going to apologize to the house for lying on the floor? I’d point out he did it first.

It’s not that the Dhimmicrats are making Rep. Wilson a martyr, to them he’s more like a convenient whipping boy. It was rude, but the partisan brouhaha afterwards is totally out of proportion…especially in light of the more “serious problems” facing the Republic; war, recession, health care.
It just demonstrates the unseriousness of the entire Congress in both Houses and in both parties to our Republic’s perils.
Time for voting the bastards out including your own bastard; and mandatory term-limits.

Wasn’t it just last Friday that Pelosi acknowledged that Rep. Wilson had apologized to barry and that was that as far as she was concerned? I guess she spoke with our pal Turdo since then.

Huh? The Democrats are hard at work trying to solve the nation’s problems. Maybe you are not paying attention, but why do you think the right is going so totally ape-sh*t? Its not because the Dems are doing nothing.

Voting people out is fine. Term limits are an affront to democracy. The people have a right to vote for whomever they feel does the best job of representing them.

They are Clyburne setting up the argument to censure Wilson right now.

Um, I hate to tell you…well, no, actually I revel in it, but the American people have already turned on the Democrat party!
Polls show they trust Republicans more to handle every major issue including the economy, health-care, national security, hell, even social security. Republicans lead the generic ballot, a majority oppose all your major agenda items including your health care reform, cap and trade, card check. Large majorities think America is headed in the wrong direction. And Harry Reid trails his Republican opponents by 10 points.
Wake up!

With Democrats, it’s either spending the country into bankruptcy or paying petty high school clique games; the martyrdom of Joe Wilson being the latter.

Yes Tano, as I have already illustrated, you use misleading, dishonest, propaganda polls that poll “adults” and over-samples Democrats by double digits and are among the least accurate in the industry, and my information is based on the most accurate pollster in the business for two years running according to independent surveys…
You can cry all you want, but the pollster I am quoting is accurate — meaning his polls turned out to EXACTLY match the real election results, and yours were WAY off. (because they are trying to influence opinion, not accurately measure it)
And when you’re promoting polls by pollsters who are so drastically wrong, you really just become a joke.
See how Rasmussen is rated number one, and your pollsters ABC and Gallup are rated among the worst in the industry at #14 and #17 out of 20?
1. Rasmussen (11/1-3)
1. Pew (10/29-11/1)
2. YouGov/Polimetrix (10/18-11/1)
3. Harris Interactive (10/20-27)
4. GWU (Lake/Tarrance) (11/2-3)*
5. Diageo/Hotline (10/31-11/2)*
5. ARG (10/25-27)*
6. CNN (10/30-11/1)
6. Ipsos/McClatchy (10/30-11/1)
7. DailyKos.com (D)/Research 2000 (11/1-3)
8. AP/Yahoo/KN (10/17-27)
9. Democracy Corps (D) (10/30-11/2)
10. FOX (11/1-2)
11. Economist/YouGov (10/25-27)
12. IBD/TIPP (11/1-3)
13. NBC/WSJ (11/1-2)
14. ABC/Washington Post (10/30-11/2)
15. Marist College (11/3)
16. CBS (10/31-11/2)
17. Gallup (10/31-11/2)
18. Reuters/ C-SPAN/ Zogby (10/31-11/3)
19. CBS/Times (10/25-29)
20. Newsweek (10/22-23)
And what does the most accurate pollster say?
Forty-five percent (45%) now favor passage of the Congressional health care reform plan…Fifty-two percent (52%) are now opposed.
Obamas approval rating has ticked up a tiny bit today, hes all the way up to 50% approval 50% disapproval
Generic congressional ballot? Republicans 44%, Democrats 37%
Just 33% say America is heading in the right direction, 63% say Obama and the Democrats have it on the wrong track.
And Democrats have pulled even on the question of who do you trust more on heathcare, with 44% favoring Democrats, and 44% favoring Republicans. the GOP has been leading that question for a month, and will probably pull back into the lead, as Obama’s post-speech bounce has evaporated.
In fact, when Americans see the results of another poll, by Investors Business Daily that two out of three doctors oppose Obamacare, and 40% of all doctors will consider leaving the profession if Obamacare passes, you can expect the Democrats numbers to nosedive.
The GOP leads 47% to 39% on economic issues this month
56% of all voters agree with the GOP on tort reform.
Voters trust the GOP over Democrats on national security by 51% to 39% and Republicans lead Democrats on Iraq by 47% to 37%.
And they trust Republicans by 45% to 33% on immigration.
48% to 40% on taxes, and voters trust Republicans more than Democrats in terms of ethics and corruption by 35% to 34%
But I will say that Democrats have pulled ahead when it comes to social security and education, which they had been trailing on all last month.
All by the pollster who has gotten the election results right more than any other pollster in the industry. Your pollsters were way off.
I know being a liberal, this concept is anathema to you, but RESULTS MATTER!
Obama knows I’m right, Democrats know I’m right. Thats why they cant pass this piece of crap despite having filibuster proof majorities!
(by the way, Harry Reid is going down too! thats why he is almost nowhere to be seen. both his potential Republican challengers lead him, one by 7 points the other by 10.)
