If opposition to Obama reminds her of anti-gay violence of the Stonewall era. Is Pelosi saying Obama is gay?

And Gallup, perhaps the most widely respected poll
If they are, that respect is misplaced, as they have been one of the most wildly inaccurate. According to Fordham University, their results for the 2008 election were the 17th most accurate, out of 20 pollsters, or third most INaccurate.

Bernake says that your recession is over, but as always after a recession, employment is the last to get better. Although the employment numbers today were better than predicted.

Are you joking? The Feds are nervous because they are seeing this as a "jobless recovery", i.e. high unemployment over 9% is here to stay for some time.

houses are being built and sold

Houses are being dumped at a loss and at what rate do you think foreclosures is going to go up to with continued unemployment? Those who formerly were not considered high-risk or had some crazy ARM are beginning to go under because of unemployment.

and there’s no inflation.

Whatever it is you are smoking I'd like some please. Inflation is at the top of the Feds' concerns especially with huge deficits over the next decade. You can say we don't have inflation problems now sure, but if things continue on this way you won't be able to say that for much longer.

Perhaps Republicans are so angry because they see Obama doing what Bush promised and failed at.

Bush was rightly criticized for his failures but you know what? His spending and budgetary flaws were nothing compared to what Obama has done in just the first 9 months of his administration and what he seems to want to do for the next few years. What's the deficit at now? $1.6 TRILLION so far?

Back on topic, Pelosi is an opportunistic sniveling little liberal. She will whine and wring her hands now, because it's her causes and her liberal president who is being challenged. I didn't see her fear the repercussions of the very hateful way GW was treated. I didn't see her plead with her liberal contingent, to cease their incessant attacks on his intellect his policies and his family. I didn't see or hear her compel the haters in her party to use civility, when speaking of her then president.
Another set of double standards which the liberal faction of the Democratic party has deeply ingrained into it's being.
Go away Nancy, you are a non-useful idiot. Someone ought to pour water over her. Dorothy???? Are you out there dear?

Dan, it's fair to call out NancyP for her selective memory when it comes to her role and the overwhelming influence of harsh, partisan rhetoric from the farLeft Democrats for 10+ yrs before Obama was elected... but, as any student of political history knows, today's rhetoric is just as vile, just as prurient as it was during the Country's founding, or the early years of the Republic, or the Great Expansion Era, or during the War of Northern Aggression and all the way up to today.

Bush and Obama aren't the first presidents to preside over a Nation split and divided --and, something tells me, they won't be the last. Bush, in part, ran a campaign in 2000 that talked about his unique role in Texas as a Governor who united disparate groups and political opponents to achieve a constructive end. Obama really ran a campaign that preached uniting Americans, promised to delivery a refreshing new hope for the American Experience and pledged to change the coarse nature of politics --all the while, paying thugs like ACORN and the gayLeft groups to attack, attack, attack 24x7.

Personally, I don’t think NancyP is being dishonest in her statements --immoral & corrupted people can't be honest, ever. She's just using anything that's available to continue the attack... to win at any cost. At the end of the day, to her and her ilk, preserving power is all that matters.

Unfortunately, in a large fashion, that describes Obama, too.

The violence she is referring to is the murders of George Moscone and Harvey Milk by Dan White.

White was angry he didn't get reappointed as a supervisor, and political rhetoric had nothing to do with the killings.

BTW, if you look at the charts, the DJIA was on it's way back up in late October, early November 2008. After the election of Chairman Obama, it took a dive. It started edging back up and then really fell after the Immaculation.

Coincidence?

The stock market is up 50% from Bush’s low,

Is that some of that Million Man Math? If we look at the most recent lowest closing of the DJIA under Bush, that would have been 7,552 on 11/20/08. If it were up 50%, that would mean we'd have a closing price of 11,328.

If you're talking about the lowest closing while Bush was in office, that would have been 7,286 on 10/9/02. If it were up 50% of that, that would still be 10,929.

The lowest point in, at least, the last 10 years was 6,773 on 3/2/09. If you'll recall, that was long after Chairman Obama's Immaculation. If the DJIA had increased, that would put the closing at 10,159.

The DJIA closing on 9/17/09 was 9783 which is the highest it's been since 10/08.

houses are being built and sold,

And houses are still being foreclosed, but not Sen. Chris "Countrywide" Dodd's houses.

so the Walton Family could grab $90 trillion!

[Citation Needed]

And anyways, that's more money in profit sharing for their employees. Must hurt liberal assholes that WalMart is STILL doing more for the low income folks than they are.

And allowed companies to take the jobs of a million Americans to commies in China so the Walton Family could grab $90 trillion!

Imagine what it would be like if Chairman Obama cut the Corporate Tax Rate from the second highest in the world. Not only would jobs not be shipped overseas, but foreign companies would invest in building companies in America creating more jobs.

So, we'll be waiting for that tax cut any day now.

Must hurt Republicans that the economy is getting so much better under Obama.

With our new trade wars with Mexico and China and Obama's NAFTA violations, prices will rise for the American Prole "mobs". But hey, the unions are protected and sitting pretty. To hell with the rest of the poor bastards, right?

Marcia, trying to figure out what your comment has to do with the post to which you attached it.

And no, W never said he was for small government. I don't know where you get your "facts" but some of them seem spun from a very fertile imagination.

Unemployment numbers better than predicted? The White House told us if Congress passed the "stimulus," unemployment would have topped out at 8%. It's now nearly 10%.

Must hurt Republicans that the economy is getting so much better under Obama. Bernake says that your recession is over, but as always after a recession, employment is the last to get better. Although the employment numbers today were better than predicted.

The stock market is up 50% from Bush's low, houses are being built and sold, and there's no inflation.

Perhaps Republicans are so angry because they see Obama doing what Bush promised and failed at.

After all ,the biggest recession since the Republicans' Great Depression has yet again been fixed by a Democrat. How embarassing for them!

And worse: Bush doubled the size of the federal government while saying he is for small government and you all voted for him anyway!

And allowed companies to take the jobs of a million Americans to commies in China so the Walton Family could grab $90 trillion!

I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words...

Except when it comes to what you were told by the CIA, right?

Gillie, the generic congressional shifts to parity when you factor out the left-leaning polls. And Gallup, perhaps the most widely respected poll finds, "Obama's approval ratings on handling the economy and healthcare, at 46% and 43%, respectively, are little changed over the past two months."

And, anyway, what's all this have to do with Nancy Pelosi, the subject of the post?

"the polling is devastating"

Um RCP says that 11% more folks approve than disapprove of Obama
Generic Congressional is still +4.6 in favor of Dems
Fox says 56% of Americans say Obama is doing good on the economy,

Its not great. But I would hardly call any of this "devastating"
Its just gone from Dem Landslides to a little more compeititve.

Something to bear in mind is that Democrats always, always, ALWAYS accuse their opponents of what they themselves are guilty of (e.g. 'culture of corruption', 'don't question my patriotism', 'racism', many many more).

If Nancy is up there weeping crocodile tears and decrying political violence, what does she have in mind?

PS- Harvey Milk was murdered by a DEMOCRAT; a office-seeker who had been deprived of a sinecure.

They're going somewhere with the timidly shtick, but I don't see the endgame. I mean, the polling is devastating: the public has no use for the "un-American" talk or the bleating of 'raaaaacism' (That's 5 A's.)

Yet, they keep doubling down. It's a mystery.

They basically have all three branches of government, all of the legacy media companies, the unions, the big city machines and the professoriate. Yet, they can't seem to deliver on anything except a miasma of blame and misdirection.

I'll throw it out there: What the hell is going on?

Best wishes,
-MFS
