You're harshing my mello Aussie ;-)

I was agreeing with these parts "Damn straight. The US media is obviously broken. ... The way the MSM reports the Israeli conflict is shameful and the uslessness was highlighted in the run up to the Iraq war. Anyone who gets their news soley from the networks/cable is living in a bubble of ignorance. "

First he agrees tax cuts increase revenues then he agrees that the MSM sucks. There may be hope for him yet.

Actually Gillie made a rather stupid statement even if he disagreed on Tano.. Read the statement again... and see who he is supporting and why..... talk about head in sand crap from Gillie....

As for Tano, I am an outsider and even I know that govt grants are not to be used for political purposes and govt agencies are supposed to be NEUTRAL....

What the tape shows is that very lack of neutrality... Buffy Wicks should be removed from her position.

Tano, its best if you refrain from commenting on subjects, its blatantly obvious you lack knowledge of.

Instructing groups that are receiving federal grant money, to engage in political propaganda, is most certainly a violation of federal lobbyist laws

Tano-

You are wrong and NDT is right. It IS against the law to funnel campaign resources through a Federal agency using Federal employees.

That was the change the DEMOCRATS put in place after Watergate, you dope.

Just because a group gets a federal grant does not require them to lose their rights as citizens to speak out on political issues.

Ah yes, the latest loser talking points from Barack Obama.

Problem is, that's not what's happening.

One of the first speakers on the call was Michael Skolnik, the “political director” for Def-Jam co-founder Russell Simmons. Skolnik made it quite clear that the artists were gathered together because of their support for Obama’s agenda. Skolnik said that he had been “asked by folks in the White House and folks in the NEA” to “help bring together the independent artists community around the country.” He told the callers that “the goal of all this and the goal of this phone call” included the effort “to support some of the president’s initiatives” and “to push the president and push his administration.”

And even better:

Well, I can speak on that because fortunately or unfortunately, I don’t work for the government. This is Michael, again, but I can speak a little bit on that, and then I’ll wrap this up.

I think that’s a good point, Liz. Organizing For America, which was created after the campaign which now houses, as we said, in the Democratic party and is run by Mitch Stewart, who is part of the campaign, he’s the executive director, it is what the Democratic party has created to help advocate on behalf of the president, on behalf of the president’s policies to get them passed in government.

So what I had hoped in bringing this group together with the great hosts, which again, I want to thank for reaching out to their communities was that we could begin to bring together our community in the same enthusiasm, with the same enthusiasm and with the same energy that we all saw in each other during the campaign, and we could continue to work together on issues as important as United We Serve and Service and begin here and continue to work together on other issues that we feel are important, as we mentioned some of them, health care and others . . .

So what we have here, Tano, is the NEA, a Federal agency, openly talking about how it plans to work with Obama Party organizations, Obama campaign groups, and Obama partisans to advance the specific Obama Party agenda.

And here's the problem with that:

All of this – particularly the government-sponsored conference call itself – is in blatant violation of the Anti-Lobbying Act (19 U.S. Code §1913), which explicitly provides: “No part of the money appropriated by any enactment of Congress shall, in the absence of express authorization by Congress, be used directly or indirectly to pay for any personal service, advertisement, telegram, telephone, letter, printed or written matter, or other device, intended or designed to influence in any manner a Member of Congress, a jurisdiction, or an official of any government, to favor, adopt, or oppose by vote or otherwise, any legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriation, whether before or after the introduction of any bill, measure or resolution proposing such legislation, law, ratification, policy or appropriation …”

In short, you have a Federal government agency directing and ordering people to coordinate and cooperate with partisan lobbying organizations and sites.

This is patently illegal. But you, being an Obama Party moral relativist, don't see anything wrong with it because Barack Obama did it. Barack Obama knows this law, and he broke it. He deliberately broke it.

What do you have to say about that, Tano? Oh, we know; you'll start blubbering and blabbering about Republicans. But all that proves is how pathetically amoral and hypocritical your party is, in that you are doing that for which you criticize Republicans.

Sounds like a complete dud of a story to me.

I love this part:
"These may both be coincidences and I am not suggesting that the NEA or these groups definitively violated the law ..."

Thats a facny way of saying "we ain't got nuttin'"

Just because a group gets a federal grant does not require them to lose their rights as citizens to speak out on political issues. Except in fascist countries of course.

I wonder what exactly y'all think is the violation of law, or ethics, or anything else here.

People will go to jail over this corruption.
People SHOULD go to jail over it. Indeed, there's a lot of Democrats who should be in jail right now. And yet they aren't. Hell, half the Obama administration are tax dodgers who belong in jail. And yet they aren't.

Democrats can commit manslaughter and instead of going to jail, they get re-elected and dubbed "the Lion of the Senate". A former Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon is the man Democrats call the "Conscience of the Senate".

They can be caught red-handed, stealing and destroying top secret national security documents, and get nothing but a slap on the wrist.

The more crime a Democrat commits, the more they are rewarded by both Democrat voters and the Democrat party.

"People will go to jail over this corruption. It is just a question of who and how deep within the White House."

I sure hope so, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I've got the sneaking suspicion that there once was a government that used "art" to promote their specific political agenda ... I just can't recall who it was ... ;)

It's probably not helpful at this point to point out that using state-funded art to support the ruling party is a characteristic of fascist regimes.
