Problem is, that’s not what’s happening.

One of the first speakers on the call was Michael Skolnik, the “political director” for Def-Jam co-founder Russell Simmons. Skolnik made it quite clear that the artists were gathered together because of their support for Obama’s agenda. Skolnik said that he had been “asked by folks in the White House and folks in the NEA” to “help bring together the independent artists community around the country.” He told the callers that “the goal of all this and the goal of this phone call” included the effort “to support some of the president’s initiatives” and “to push the president and push his administration.”

And even better:

Well, I can speak on that because fortunately or unfortunately, I don’t work for the government. This is Michael, again, but I can speak a little bit on that, and then I’ll wrap this up.

So what I had hoped in bringing this group together with the great hosts, which again, I want to thank for reaching out to their communities was that we could begin to bring together our community in the same enthusiasm, with the same enthusiasm and with the same energy that we all saw in each other during the campaign, and we could continue to work together on issues as important as United We Serve and Service and begin here and continue to work together on other issues that we feel are important, as we mentioned some of them, health care and others . . .

So what we have here, Tano, is the NEA, a Federal agency, openly talking about how it plans to work with Obama Party organizations, Obama campaign groups, and Obama partisans to advance the specific Obama Party agenda.

And here’s the problem with that:

All of this – particularly the government-sponsored conference call itself – is in blatant violation of the Anti-Lobbying Act (19 U.S. Code §1913), which explicitly provides: “No part of the money appropriated by any enactment of Congress shall, in the absence of express authorization by Congress, be used directly or indirectly to pay for any personal service, advertisement, telegram, telephone, letter, printed or written matter, or other device, intended or designed to influence in any manner a Member of Congress, a jurisdiction, or an official of any government, to favor, adopt, or oppose by vote or otherwise, any legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriation, whether before or after the introduction of any bill, measure or resolution proposing such legislation, law, ratification, policy or appropriation …”

In short, you have a Federal government agency directing and ordering people to coordinate and cooperate with partisan lobbying organizations and sites.

This is patently illegal. But you, being an Obama Party moral relativist, don’t see anything wrong with it because Barack Obama did it. Barack Obama knows this law, and he broke it. He deliberately broke it.

Just because a group gets a federal grant does not require them to lose their rights as citizens to speak out on political issues. Except in fascist countries of course.

People will go to jail over this corruption.

People SHOULD go to jail over it. Indeed, there’s a lot of Democrats who should be in jail right now. And yet they aren’t. Hell, half the Obama administration are tax dodgers who belong in jail. And yet they aren’t.

Democrats can commit manslaughter and instead of going to jail, they get re-elected and dubbed “the Lion of the Senate”. A former Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon is the man Democrats call the “Conscience of the Senate”.

They can be caught red-handed, stealing and destroying top secret national security documents, and get nothing but a slap on the wrist.

The more crime a Democrat commits, the more they are rewarded by both Democrat voters and the Democrat party.

I sure hope so, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
