You mean like the left wing fantasy that the leader of the National Workers Socialist Party of Germany was a "right wing" dictator?

I knew it was only a matter of time before that fiery paranoia reared its' head. Watch out, Evil Obama's trying to brainwash our children!!! And he hates white people!! And, back to the original post's main point, with delusion and idiocy like this at the "mainstream" of conservatism, it's no surprise that violence has been creeping in at the edges. You and the likes of Stormfront, more and more, you're all spouting the same talking points. But since it doesn't appear that anyone's interested in acknowledging anything but their own victimized outrage, I guess I'll leave you to your atrophied echo chamber.

#49: "The original song is titled “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” Who’s the bad Christian now, Sean? Heck, even that “librul” teacher who forced the songs on her class, she knew what the song’s title was!"

So, you don't dispute that the teacher lifted lyrics from a song that praises Jesus Christ, and inserted them into a song praising Barack Obama. Got it. And william, I have a problem with anything in the public schools that comes between parents and children regarding political issues, no matter what the ideology. I also support students' free speech rights and the right for them to pray on school grounds if they choose to do so. But this isn't a free speech issue. Obviously, you think it's okay for a government employee to decide that because she supports Obama and his policies, then she has the right to force children to sing songs praising him. You call it "benign" because you believe it's benign, and if a child's parent disagrees, well then, he or she is just some hate-filled crazy. That's the difference. I condemn teachers instructing children to sing songs praising George W. Bush OR Barack Obama because it is up to parents to decide how to raise their children and what values they want to instill. You're only willing to condemn the instruction of children on political matters that you disagree with.

what about all those school kids who sung their song praising George Bush’s response to Katrina (of all things)? Was there any anger from the right about that?

Perhaps you should reprint the lyrics to that song for us, William. After all, you can do that, right? Certainly you would have no trouble comparing that to the Obama song that praised Obama, only Obama, and didn't mention or praise anyone else, right?

Meanwhile, given that Obama openly OPPOSES racial equality and states that black people should not have to meet or follow the same standards as white people, it seems your definition needs a bit of work.

The original song is titled "Jesus Loves the Little Children." Who's the bad Christian now, Sean? Heck, even that "librul" teacher who forced the songs on her class, she knew what the song's title was! Where were you when the kids sung Bush's praises over Katrina? Wild guess, but I bet you weren't at the front lines on the fight against school prayer, either. And I certainly bet you weren't sticking up for the kids who got kicked out of school for wearing anti-war slogans on their shirts. And I doubt you see any hypocrisy at all in the fact that the same Texas school that refused to air Obama's speech also planned to bus its' students, on school time, to a rally featuring none other than George Bush. No, "ideology in the schools" is something you only have a problem with when Fox News tells you it's time to get indignant. And then, because it's something as benign as an expression of pride in American and praise for racial equality, you all end up looking like a bunch of hate-filled crazies. Which, well, you are. Death threats to an elementary school? Come on, where's your decency?

Livewire: the "citation" gotcha is sooooo aol chat-room, circa 2002. Which is where and when you probably still hang out.

#45: william, thanks for missing my point and in the process, proving it. The issue isn't whether Obama's policies are or are not praiseworthy. The issue is whether a school administrator or a parent gets to decide what children should be taught to praise when it comes to political issues. Your response clearly proves that you believe the judgment of a government employee trumps that of a parent. Shocker!

#46: Oh, now this is pitiful. william, you poor little thing, do you REALLY not know the origin of the line, "red, yellow, black or white, all are equal in his sight"? Seriously?! Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering that you're a liberal. The line is a bastardization of a lyric from the song "Jesus Loves Me." The original lyric is, "red, yellow, black, and white, all are PRECIOUS in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world..." Do you really not know this? Or is it that you know this, but you don't think ripping off lyrics from a Sunday School ode to Jesus Christ (sung by millions of church-going Christian children for over half a century) and modifying it so that Obama is the object of praise in the song doesn't equate with the man who Christians believe was the son of God and the savior of all mankind? Really?! No,....REALLY?!

One more thing, I did notice that you managed to accuse me of finding "racial equality repugnant," so excellent work with the originality, william. You really blew me out of the water by countering my criticism of the school district's action by calling me a racist. Wow. I NEVER saw that coming. And believe me, there's nothing more effective to shut down conservatives than calling them racists, notwithstanding the fact that your party supports, endorses, and advocates affirmative action programs that discriminate on the basis of race. It's a nice hypocritical touch so, good job!

Also Sean: It's weird how, in your mind, praise for someone for seeing all people as equal is somehow suggesting that that person is like Jesus? Silly me: I though that was just upholding the principles of the Constitution.

Violence: Glenn Beck intimating that Nancy Pelosi should be poisoned on national television; Ann Coulter cheerfully encouraging violence towards left-leaning judges and Democrats in general; signs at the tea-tantrums that are thinly-veiled threats to assassinate (the silly “water the tree” quote that everyone seems to love so much, signs that threaten to use arms before they’re “taken away”), Republican politicians joking about lynching left and right, then feigning innocence or ignorance. The list goes on and on and on, and frankly, if you’re unwilling to see what’s staring all of us in the face, that is your willful moral failing. These aren’t fringe voices, either; they are your mainstream.

Rabid vitriol of tea-tantrums: not having the decency to let people speak without shouting them down, booing without listening, waving hate-filled signs and jabbing fingers – these are people who weren’t there to listen; they were there to shut down meaningful dialogue. And let’s not forget about the fevered ACORN-haters who chased three African-Americans from the edges of the “9/12” rally, inciting the mob around them to a froth of glee. Or, of course, the free-for-all of August “arms-bearing.”

And finally, as for the current conservative movement standing for anything… I listened at those tea-tantrums, and all I heard was recycled misinformation and an excuse to screech against Obama. More broadly, we’ve heard nothing of coherence or conviction from the right about an actual vision for health care reform. All we’ve gotten is lies about “death panels” bandied about by Republican senators, and moronic cries of socialism screamed by recipients of Medicaire (a socialist program, of course). And where are the supposedly principled conservatives who should be standing up to try to articulate a true position, or at least talk some sense into this idiotic lunatic mob? Nowhere in sight. I wouldn’t say I’m angry so much as alarmed at what appears to be a wholesale disavowal of adult reason in favor of childish emotion.

Lame “citation needed” gimmick, by the way, ThatGayConservative. If you want to check the death threats, all the census fear-mongering, or the death threats to the New Jersey school, all you need to do is turn your television somewhere other than Fox News. But that would mean, again, trying to see the world from outside your sad little bubble.

Sean A.: what about all those school kids who sung their song praising George Bush's response to Katrina (of all things)? Was there any anger from the right about that? Also, it is truly beyond sad that you feel the idea of "equal work, equal pay" is somehow a controversial thing for school children to praise or hope for, a "policy objective" that is "repugnant." It seems by your statement that you also find racial equality repugnant and a successful American economy repugnant, as well? If these "policy objectives," are so horrific and frightening to you and your fellow conservatives, then you have just proven my point: you have no interest in a better democracy and you have no interest in a better America.

#41: "Those just came randomly out of nowhere; they had nothing to do with the fact that the right-wing media has been flogging the (non-)issue for weeks."

A "non-issue", william? Government employees teaching children to sing songs praising President Obama, his "great accomplishments," his policy objectives ("equal work means equal pay"; "we honor your great plans
to make this country's economy number one again"), and equating him to Jesus Christ ("red, yellow, black or white, All are equal in his sight") is a "non-issue"? Many parents in this country are disgusted by Obama and find his policy positions to be repugnant, but I guess they are just a bunch of kooks and public school teachers have the final say in what their children are taught, right?

Somehow I have a hard time believing that you would consider it a "non-issue" if young children were being taught to sing songs equating George W. Bush to a deity and praising his successful regime change in Iraq and liberating the Iraqi people.

Take some moral responsibility for the violent rhetoric of your movement.

[Citation Needed]

And it’s not just the left-wing that wonders if you’re all a bunch of foaming crazies, it’s mainstream America that is getting scared of the rage you and your leaders are trafficking in.

[Citation Needed]

Do you suppose mainstream Americans are going to put up with being labeled "racist" if they dare question Chairman Obama for much longer? Do you suppose mainstream Americans are going to approve of liberals using the death of a person for political gain like the Wellstone Memorial & Circle Jerk?

If you look and act like a violent mob on TV, you’ll be treated like a violent mob.

Most decent Americans see the liberal violent mobs in Pittsburgh, London, Seattle etc. Therefore, YOU are going to be treated like a violent mob.

President Obama receives 40 death threats a day; that’s 4 times as many as Bush did. Wouldn’t it be moral to ask what voices in the conservative media are stoking that kind of anger?

[Citation Needed]

Wouldn't it be moral to ask where the hell you get that steaming pile of BS?

Michelle Bachmann, Glenn Beck, Gorden Liddy and all kinds of other right-wing leaders and pundits take to the airwaves en masse to demonize the U.S. Census

Oh, and let’s not forget the death threats to the New Jersey school where children had the audacity to praise the president. Those just came randomly out of nowhere;

We have seen, in the not too distant past where liberals made up claims of death threats. And that was a US Rep. Decent Americans aren't going to put up with that bleating victimhood crap.

William, violent rhetoric of my movement. Where? Please identify where mainstream conservatives have been inciting violence.

Rabid vitriol of August tea parties? Hmm. . . you mean those union thugs who beat up a conservative in Missouri or bit the finger of an Obamacare opponent in California?

Guess that's why increasing numbers of people oppose Obamacare.

Um, oh, and yeah, if you want to know what we stand for, just read our blog, or listen to people protesting at tea parties--they make it quite clear what they want, if only you would listen, instead of getting your information about conservatives from left-wing websites.

Lots and lots of projection, William. Telling us our rage in a tone of anger!
